Nini stretched as she uncurled from the sheets in her big bed. she smiled as she heard the sweet sound of her boyfriend singing and the delicious smell of cooked bacon.

she rolled out of bed and made her way through the apartment as she approached the kitchen. Ricky was singing to himself as he prepared breakfast, startling a little when he saw Nini leaning against the wall.

"good morning Neens!"

she smiled, kissing him softly on the cheek before sitting down, "what's all this for?"

Ricky beamed, "it's your Broadway debut! we're starting off our celebrations now!"

after all her hard work of training in theatre through college, Nina Salazar-Roberts was finally making her Broadway debut! she was proudly stepping into the role of Eliza Schuyler in Hamilton. she'd studied hard, auditioned for countless shows, worked as a waitress to pay her rent while taking acting classes, it had all been leading up to this moment. in several hours, she'd finally get to be a star.

Nini smiled widely, "i love you."

Ricky set a plate down in front of her, a coffee mug and an orange juice accompanying it, before sitting next to her, "i love you more."

the couple ate, chatting about how the day was going to go. Nini had a full schedule while Ricky didn't have much to do. it was summer so he was currently off from work since he taught music at one of the performing arts schools in the city. his students would freak out if they knew that his girlfriend was the new star of one of their favorite musicals.

Nini finished up her breakfast, standing from her chair, "okay, i have to get ready. long day ahead!"

she sat on the edge of their bed as she decided what she needed to pack for the day. since it was an opening night for a cast member, the cast and crew were throwing her an after party after the show so she had to pack something to wear for that as well. she pulled out a cream colored cotton dress, grabbing her riding boots and a cardigan to wear to the theatre. she got dressed and brushed her hair, deciding not to do anything to it since her hairdresser would fix it before the show anyway. she grabbed her garment bag and packed her favorite navy blue cocktail dress and some heels, packing them in the garment bag and then folding that carefully into her large tote bag until she could hang it up in her dressing room.

it was already almost one o'clock, Nini knowing that she wanted to get to the theatre early before her put in rehearsal at three. she grabbed her backpack that held her laptop and journal as well as her water bottle and some other essentials she would need and also grabbed her tote bag, walking to the living room.

she set her bags down by the door and skipped over to Ricky on the couch, kissing his cheek, "okay, i'm gonna go to the theatre early before my rehearsal so i can get in the headspace. you're coming tonight right?"

Ricky looked at her incredulously, "i wouldn't miss it for the world babe. i'll be there."

she smiled and blushed a little, "great, your ticket is already reserved at the box office so just say you're my guest and they'll give it to you. i have to go now."

Ricky leaned forward to kiss her quickly, "good luck, you don't need it though."

she pecked his cheek and waved as she picked up all her bags and headed out of the apartment. the streets of New York looked beautiful in the summertime, people are happier, the sun is shining, kids are laughing, it's just a great time to be in the greatest city in the world.

the Richard Rogers was quiet as she stepped in the stage door, stopping to sign in first. she greeted the door man, grabbing her mail for the day from him. she walked up the few flights of stairs to get to her dressing room. it wasn't totally finished yet since she'd just gotten it not even a week ago. she had thrown a few throw pillows and blankets on the small couch she put in there, also getting a new chair to sit in at her vanity table. Nini turned on the bright bulb lights, smiling at herself in the mirror at the action. she set her bags down and began to set up for the day. she drifted her gaze to the picture of her and Ricky from when they first moved into their apartment together.
