Nobody was more surprised when Mike Bowen remarried than Ricky. he was even more surprised when he found out that Mike and his new stepmom Jenn were having a baby. He was so excited to be a big brother, the moment he saw his little sister was the moment he knew what love was.

Piper Bowen was the cutest little thing you've ever seen. She had curly brown hair, like her brother, and was tall for her 5 year old age. She hung the moon and stars for Ricky.

Ricky was there for everything with the little girl. he was there when she said her first word, "Ick," which became her nickname for her brother, he was there for her first steps in which she walked right to him, he was there when she fell off her bike and skinned her knee, crying until Ricky kissed it and put a bandaid on it, he was there for her first day of preschool and kindergarten.

By the time he was a senior, she was in kindergarten, starting to become her own person. Piper had taken a very strong liking to Nini, Ricky's longtime girlfriend. One day, he and Nini were sitting in the living room of his house studying when Piper came in, parading a tiny blonde boy behind her.

Ricky stood up off the couch, "Pipes, who do you have here?"

Piper beamed at her older brother, "This is Trevor!"

Ricky grinned, "Ah, is Trevor your boyfriend?" he wiggled his eyebrows at his sister, Nini chuckling from her spot behind him on the couch.

the little girl shook her head, "Nope! He's my best friend!"

Ricky laughed and nodded, "Okay, best friends, sure. Check back in with me in ten years kiddo."

Nini couldn't help but glance back and forth between her boyfriend and the little girl who was practically her sister. she chuckled to herself, remembering how that was the same way she introduced Ricky to her moms in kindergarten.

When Ricky graduated and moved off to college, Piper was the most crushed about his departure. She cried herself to sleep in his bed most nights, Mike and Jenn having to carry her to her own room. She would beg nonstop for him to come home. Ricky wasn't that far away, him and Nini only studying at University of Utah, he couldn't bear to be too far away from his beloved sister.

When he and Nini came home for Halloween, Piper was ecstatic. She had facetimed him days prior, begging him to come home so they could go trick or treating. He surprised her by showing up, he and Nini in their matching Mickey and Minnie costumes. Piper was so excited. She held each of their hands as the couple took the young girl around the neighborhood.

The summer between his freshman and sophomore year of college, he was teaching Piper how to skate. Nini sat on the Bowen's front porch, watching the siblings in the road. Ricky had a firm grip on the little girl as he rolled her up and down the street on his skateboard.

"Okay, Piper, I'm gonna let you go and you have to push to keep going. Okay?"

The little girl nodded enthusiastically at her big brother as Ricky counted down and let her go. He cheered as she successfully pushed off on her own on the board. He began to panic when he realized she couldn't stop herself and she was about to hit a large oak tree.

"PIPER!" Ricky yelled as he ran quickly, diving in front of the board to stop it, his arms reaching out to grab the girl as she began to fly off the board.

They landed in a heap on the neighbors grass as Ricky sighed dramatically, Nini all the while running to see what had happened.

"Piper, are you okay?!" Ricky asked frantically as he checked over his little sister for scrapes or bruises.

The little girl simply laughed, "That was fun!"

By the time Piper was 8, she'd become used to seeing her brother's girlfriend hanging around their house. Ricky had come home for the summer again, staying back in his old bedroom. Nini often came to stay with him.
