"Nini, what the fuck!"

she ducked as a glass flew past her face, shattering once it hit the wall. tears stained her face as she continued to sob, trying to run to safety. she made it to the bedroom and locked the door behind her.

the only sound was her uneven breathing until a fist was pounding on the door, making her jump, "come on Nina, open the fucking door!"

"no!" she yelled back, pacing the room.

she could hear him sigh on the other side of the door, "Nini, please?" his voice was quiet, the anger suddenly gone.

she hesitated before unlocking the door and slowly opening it, revealing her boyfriend on the other side. she turned around and walked further into their bedroom, hearing the door close behind her. she was pulling back the sheets to get in bed when she felt his arms slip around her waist.

she sighed as his warm breath hovered over her neck, "i love you." he says quietly as he places a harsh kiss to the sensitive skin.

she tried to wiggle her way out of his arms, "baby, please, i'm tired. i just want to go to bed."

that's when his arms tightened around her, his hands coming to firmly hold her arms, "are you saying no to me Nina?"

she gulped as she felt him nip roughly at her neck, "n-no, no i-it's fine. i guess we can do this."

"good." he says roughly as he pushes her down on the bed.

Ricky sighs as he cleans the counter of his and Red's skate shop, they'd been busy today. a few teens milled around the store, Red was in the back room checking stock. the bell dinged, indicating that somebody walked in the door.

Ricky looks up, a smile suddenly on his face, "hey! there's my favorite girl!"

he sighs contently when Nini wraps herself in his arms, he tries not to notice how she held onto him a little bit tighter than normal. when they pulled away, she looked down at the ground and tucked some hair behind her ear.

"he did it again." she says quietly as she pulls out the receipt books and sets them on top of the counter.

Ricky hastily turns to her, ducking his head so nobody could hear them, "again? Neens this is the third time this week. i've lost track of how many times this month."

she shakes her head and looks at him briefly, "it's fine Ricky, it's okay."

he places his hand on top of hers, stopping her from writing, "it's not okay Nini, he's forcing you."

"he's not forcing me, i told him it's okay."

he tilts his head as he looks at her, "did you say it was okay or did you just not say no?"

she furrowed her brows a little, "i-i don't know."

Ricky's hand grazed her arm gently, "i hate that this keeps happening to you Neens, you need to get out of there."

Nini sighs and looks up at him, "i don't know how. we've been together since college, he followed me back here to Salt Lake, he gave up his accounting dream in New York for me to come be with my family. he gave up everything for me."

"yeah, and now he's treating you like a rag doll because of it. what did he throw at you last night?"

"you don't know that he threw anything at me." she sees the pointed look he gives her and she sighs, "...a glass from the kitchen. but he apologized Ricky, he just has a temper, that's all."
