(195): I Can't Be Without You (Part One)

Wasabi x Reader requested by Crimsonblackrose. I tried my best with this because I am definitely NOT fearless nor messy, haha. ^-^

You're getting dressed for the busy day. Today is yours and Wasabi's six month anniversary, and he wants a full day of celebration.

There's a knock on the door. You open it to see Wasabi, smiling. He holds a bouquet of (favorite_flowers). You grin. "Aw, Wasabi. This is too sweet of you."

"Happy anniversary," He says, leaning down to plant a kiss on your cheek.

"Happy anniversary," You reply. You take his hand. "Come inside while I put these in a vase."

Wasabi follows you into the kitchen, where you fill a vase up with water.

"You look lovely," He tells you.

You blush. "Thank you. So. What is it that we're doing today?"

"I was thinking about the carnival that's downtown. Sound good?"

"That sounds great! Let's go!"

The day is warm. The sun beats down on you and Wasabi as you walk hand in hand. "What should we do first?" You ask excitedly. "The funhouse? The rollercoaster?"

"Um, maybe we should just. . .  have cotton candy," He says nervously.

You shrug. "Okay."

Wasabi leads you to the cotton candy machine. He orders wand of the fluff for the two of you to share. He holds the cotton candy out to you. You pull a piece off and take a bite. Wasabi grabs a handful of napkins. After you're finished, you lick your fingers clean. "Hey, stop! What are you doing?"

"Um."

"Use a napkin!" He shoves a handful of napkins in your hands.

"Okay, okay! Gosh. Calm down, dude." You wipe your hands. "Come on. Let's just go get on a ride."

"Um, I suggest a carousel."

"No way!" You say. You grab his hand and drag him behind you. "We're going on this!"

You stop in front of a giant wooden rollercoaster. It's painted a bright white and has bright yellow lights lining the side of the track. You grin and take a step towards the line.

You're pulled back by Wasabi. "Nu-uh. No way. I am not getting on that."

"Why not?" You ask.

"Look at- at how unstable it is!"

"Wasabi." You pout. "Please?"

Wasabi shakes his head, avoiding eye contact with you. "Nope. Not a chance."

"Wasabi?" You ask in a small voice. His eyes finally meet yours. "Please?"

He sighs. "Okay. Fine. Let's just get this over with."

"Yes! It will be great! I promise!" You leap up and kiss Wasabi.

You exit the coaster, smoothing down your messy hair. "That. Was. Awesome!" You turn around to see Wasabi. "Wasn't it?"

Wasabi is looking a little green. He covers his mouth. "I need a minute," He breathes before sprinting to the trash can.

You run after him. He leans into the trash can. You pat his back as he gets sick. "Are you okay?"

"Never. Getting. On. A. Rollercoaster. Again," He says behind clenched teeth.

"That's okay," You tell him.

"I can't believe that you made me get on that."

"Wasabi, I didn't know that you'd get sick."

"Well, I think that we should just go home."

You smirk. "Wimp."

He glares at you. "You know what?"

"What?" You laugh.

"This isn't working out."

Your smile falters. "W-What do you mean?"

"I don't think that we can be together. We're just too different."

"F-Fine."

Wasabi frowns. "Okay. So."

"I'll call someone to give me a ride home. I'm sorry that I ruined your time." You walk away.

Wasabi frowns. Did he do the right thing? As you leave, an emptiness sets inside you. Unknown to you, Wasabi is feeling the same emptiness.
