(307): I'm In Love With A Monster

Hiro x Reader requested by RomanticWaltz2764. This is Hotel Transylvania themed (at her request), and if you haven't seen the second yet, do not worry about it. This takes place during the first movie.

I happen to be a huge Hotel Transylvania fan (mostly because of Johnny, tbh) and I recently went to see the sequel. It was super cute & the fact that Nick Offerman voiced Johnny's dad made my entire day. (I'm a Parks and Recreation fan)

This is kind of out there. It was the hardest thing I've written so far and it is quite lengthy. It probably seems like it goes quickly, but please let me remind you:

This is a ONE SHOT. Not a two hour long movie or thirty chapters - book. It's not perfect, and it's not exactly like the movie. It's one request that I have written a short story of. Please do not tell me that people fall in love too quickly in these. I am well aware that you think they go too quickly.

It's your first night in the high tech city of San Fransokyo, and you were more than a little lost. It's also one of the first vacations to a big city that you've taken without friends. Heaving your heavy backpack on your shoulders, you look around the dark neighborhood for a place that is open. It's nearing midnight, and you still have yet to even have dinner.

You turn the corner and see a lit window from the other side of the street. You quickly cross the road and squint to read the sign.

You look into the window and see full tables. Closed? Is it reserved for a Halloween party or something? Everyone appears to be in creepy costumes that look pretty realistic. You bite your lip as your stomach grumbles. You're too hungry to wait until morning to eat. With a deep breath, you shove the doors open.

Everyone is too distracted to look over at you. You step inside and look around. Halfway to the counter, the tall, pale, and dark haired man behind it quickly walks over to you. "How did you get in here?" He asks.

"I opened the doors," you state, "and walked in."

"How did you find this place?"

"Well, I mean, I was trying to find my hotel, but I couldn't. So I went through the smaller, less crowded neighborhoods and I got lost."

The man pulls you to the wall and blocks you from everyone's view. His eyes are filled with panic. "I-I don't understand how. I was so careful! I-I-" he turns to you again, "You have to go! Leave immediately and don't come back!"

"Okay, dude. Chill. I just wanted to get some food."

"You can't. You have to leave." He starts shoving you towards the doors.

"Tadashi?" A female voice asks from behind you. You turn and see a lady with short brown hair and dark clothes. "Who's this?"

"This is. . . uh. . . nobody," Tadashi says with a shrug. "She was just leaving."

"I was trying to get food," you say, glaring at the man named Tadashi.

"Oh, Tadashi, don't be silly. All monsters are welcome here!"

You blink in confusion. Monsters? The lady turns to the counter, where she restocks her supply of disgusting looking candy and treats. "You. . . you're all monsters?" You ask Tadashi quietly.

"Yeah," he replies, "and that is why you cannot stay. You have to go. If they find out you're a human-"

"What's your name, sweetie?" the lady asks you.
