Part two of I Can't Be Without You. ^-^
Super happy that no important died on the Walking Dead! Yayy~
And super happy that I will soon be posting my 200th one shot! If I could throw a party to celebrate, I totally would. But I can't, so I will be sure to throw something super special together for all of you wonderful people. ^-^ <3(Unedited).
You return home. Your heart feels completely empty. What's Wasabi's problem? So you're different from him. Why's that such a problem? You wish that things were different. You wish that you never met Wasabi. You wish that you never dragged him on that rollercoaster. You wish that he wasn't so weird about things. You wish that you didn't fall so hard for him. But mostly, you wish that you had more of (favorite_comfort_food).
~
The days pass until they turn into weeks. The weeks go into a month, then two. You don't move off of your couch for any reason other than to use the bathroom or get food. You miss Wasabi. You really, really miss him.
Wasabi misses you, too. Every morning he half expects you to call, only to remember that he ended the relationship. What was he thinking? Yeah, you're different. Yeah, you're messy, and you're a thrill seeker, and you're a little crazy. . . but really, isn't that what made him fall for you? Your bravery, your sense of humor? Wasabi realizes that he's wrong.
Could he fix things? Would you give him a second chance? He dials your number.
-
Your phone rings as you're halfway through a bag of (favorite_chips/crackers/candy). You freeze. Someone's calling you? Probably a wrong number. A phone company warning you to pay your bill. An old lady trying to call her grandkids for the first time. You look at the caller ID and see Wasabi's name.
You blink. Could it really be him? Why would he call? The phone continues to ring. Three rings, four. Five rings. Six. You lift your phone to your ear with a shaky hand.
"H-Hello?" You strain.
"Hey, ___?" Wasabi's voice says.
You wince. You refused to remember what he sounded like. The last words were way too painful.
"Um, yeah."
"Hey. How have you been?" Wasabi asks.
You look around you. Candy wrappers litter the floor, empty mugs and cups scatter on the coffee table. Your hair is pulled up into a messy bun. Blankets are piled on your legs. "Um. I've been. . . busy. You?"
"Honestly, I've been better. Look, I just want to apologize. The way I acted. . . it was awful of me. You didn't deserve that. You're a wonderful person, ___. I'm not expecting you to forgive me. Just know that I am sorry."
You take a deep breath. Wasabi waits patiently. "I forgive you."
Wasabi is shocked. "You do?"
"Yeah. It's also my fault. I should be more considerate of your likes and dislikes."
"It's not your fault. I, uh, also wanted to know if we could start over?"
"Start over?"
"As friends?"
You blink. "Yeah. Okay. That sounds great." You can't help but smile. "I guess I'll talk to you later, then."
"Later," Wasabi says. You wait a second before hanging up.
~
For the first time in two months, you have plans. You're going to see a movie with Wasabi. You want to go see something like a thriller or horror, but Wasabi wants to go for a family comedy. You decide that he should be the one to pick.
After the movie, Wasabi carries the huge bucket of popcorn out of the theater. You keep your eyes on the torn carpet.
"Did you like it?" Wasabi asks. "I thought that it was hilarious."
You shrug. "It was. . . okay, I guess." Wasabi frowns. "I love the popcorn, though!" You grab a handful of popcorn. As you chew, you lick your fingers. You try to dig in for more. Wasabi tries to hide his grimace. "Oh." You stop. "Right. Sorry." You pull out the pile of napkins that you had stuffed in your pocket. You wipe your hands.
Wasabi smiles. Then, he says, "We're different."
You frown. Is this going back to how it started? "Yeah."
"I don't think that it's a bad thing, though." Wasabi holds the door open for you. You step out and look back at him. "Yeah, you're crazy. Yeah, sometimes I think that you're going to kill me with rollercoasters and horror movies, but I still love you." He freezes. He hasn't said that since before.
You smile. "You do?"
Wasabi hangs his head. "Yeah. I do."
You reach out and take his hand. "That's good. I love you, too. I never stopped. Even when we weren't together anymore."
Wasabi squeezes your hand. "I really missed you."
"I missed you, too."
"So we're back together?" Wasabi asks hopefully.
"If you want to be, definitely."
Wasabi hugs you. "I definitely want to! I love you, ___. I love you. And I can't be without you anymore."
"I can't be without you, either," You say. You reach up and kiss him.
