I'm sorry that this isn't a request, I'm losing inspiration & I'm feeling a bit down today.

(Unedited).

"Are you ready?" You barely glance up as Hiro skips into your lab. The eighteen year old beams at you and wraps you up into a hug. "I called Aunt Cass and told her that I'll be gone all day with you, so we're all set." He realizes that you're not responding and frowns. "___? Is something wrong?"

You shrug. "I'm just a little sad, I guess."

"Are you okay? You're not sick, are you? Or depressed?" he questions, the concern clear in his voice. "Because if so, I understand. You can talk to me if you want to."

You shake your head and wrap your arms around his waist tightly. You rest your ear against his chest; right above his heart. "I'm not depressed, Hiro. I'm just a little sad today. And I know that I have no right to be. I have you, and all my friends and family, but. . ."

Hiro pulls away and bends down to look into your eyes. "Hey, it's okay to be sad. That's normal." He squeezes your arms gently and purses his lips. "Let's go for a walk," he suggests.

"I don't know. . ."

"Come on, ___," he urges. "It's sunny out. Maybe you just need a break from all of your school stress."

"I can't take a break," you insist. "Do you know how much work I have to do? And I can't even do it right! I just. . . ugh! I really don't even have time to sleep at night." You groan.

Hiro sighs and slides his hand down to hold yours. "Is that why you're sad?"

"Yes. No," you frown. "I guess there's more than one reason."

"Alright, let's go," he pulls you towards the other labs.

"Hiro," you say, pulling back, "I really don't want to do anything right now."

"I really don't care," he says. You sigh in annoyance as he drags you outside. As soon as you walk out the doors, the sun hits you. The warmth spreads across your skin. Hiro leads you up a side path and straight to one of the stone benches that's below the cherry blossom trees. He sits down and pats the space beside him. "Come on. Sit down."

You sit down and slouch, your elbows resting on your knees. "What's this supposed to do?"

Hiro ignores you. "Do you remember four years ago, when Tadashi died and I stopped living, too?" You look up at him. He raises his eyebrows and waits for you to respond. You nod. "I didn't think that I could get passed it the darkness in my life. But then you," he pauses and tucks a strand of your hair behind your ear, "you came to me as soon as I needed you. Even though I kept pushing you away, you would come back." He smiles. "I brought you out here because light is supposed to cure depression. Aunt Cass kept trying to open the blinds in my room because she thought that light would help my sadness," he rolls his eyes, "and make me happy. But the light didn't help me. You did. You saved me right when I needed you. You were my light, ___." He takes your hand and holds it to his chest. You smile a little and lean forward until your head is resting on his shoulder. "I hate seeing you sad. You're the reason I'm happy now. I couldn't stand it if you were left in that dark place that I was. I want to give you a reason to be happy."

You look up into his chocolate brown eyes. "You're my reason to be happy, Hiro." You reach up and wrap your arms around him. His lips touch yours gently and his hands cradle the back of your head. You break away from your boyfriend and nuzzle your nose against his. "I'm sorry that I've been so down today."

"Don't ever apologize," he replies. He kisses you quickly and pulls you into his arms. "Just please tell me when you feel a little sad, okay? I want to be able to help you whenever I can."

You kiss his cheek. "I love you."

He smiles. "I love you, too, ___," he says, "more than you'll ever know." You lean deeper in his arms, more content that you've ever been.
