A stomach bug + a week of birthday parties + a surprise Disney vacation to mentally and physically prepare for + another round of illness in the house + a get ahead on schoolwork and prepare for finals week = one exhausted and drained author. Thank you all for being so patient! If you requested, PLEASE hold the reminders. Yes, I know that you've been waiting for a while, and yes, I'm slowly getting it done.

Until then, please settle for this Tadashi x Reader! I thought of it while I was trying on a new outfit at a store a couple days ago. I realized two things: one, even short & curvy fitted jeans don't fit me correctly, and two, a lot of people feel terrible about their appearance because they don't think that the way they're made will please a certain someone. I struggle with the fact that I'm super short, no matter how many times people tell me that guys like short girls. There are short girls that look their age, but then there are short girls that are handed a kid's menu and directed towards a child's section of clothing instead (me). And let me just say: everyone deals with insecurities and this isn't a new thing to hear. You were made perfectly, and ladies, there's a guy out there that will find everything about you perfect. ❤

But here's the deal: if you're eleven to fourteen and you're complaining about not having a boyfriend or you're angry about a boy breaking up with you or not liking you back and it's making you depressed and whiny-- you have issues. Live a little. You're still a kid, act like it. Don't try to grow up because it sucks. Being a teenager sucks. Everyone sucks and that's the way it is. (I would also like to point out that the profanity used by a majority of eleven to fourteen year olds is ridiculous. You don't sound cool. AND WHERE ARE YOUR PARENTS WHEN YOU SAY THESE THINGS? JUST KNOCK IT OFF)

That is all.

Tadashi x Reader~

"There's supposed to be a huge sale today," you explain to your boyfriend, Tadashi, as he drives you downtown. "I hope to get a new dress for our next date. I'll need you to help pick it out."

"You'd look good in any color, dear," Tadashi says.

You smile up at him. "Well, thank you, but you still have to come."

He laughs lightly. "It was worth a shot." He pulls into the parking lot and picks a place to park. You both climb out of Aunt Cass's green pick-up truck. Tadashi meets you at the front of it and takes your hand in his. "Ready, beautiful?"

You smile. "Yup."

The store is fairly packed upon arriving. You and Tadashi make your way to the dressier area and you begin to pick out dresses. "A royal blue, or a soft yellow?" you murmur to yourself. "Sunset orange? Forest green?"

"I like this one," Tadashi says suddenly, pulling a white dress off the rack. Light and airy, the dress hangs at about a knee length in a smooth cascading form. It looks flattering even on the hanger.

"I like it, too," you reply.

He grins. "Good. What size do you wear?" he asks.

Your face burns a bit at the thought of telling him. "I'll, uh, get it myself." You move in front of him and search for your correct size.

Tadashi sighs at your actions. "___, I told you that the size of your clothes doesn't bother me." His hand falls on the small of your back.

"If you knew it, it would," you assure him. Before he can speak, you say, "Okay, I found it." You grab the dress and drag him towards the dressing rooms. You push him down on a nearby bench. "Wait here."

"Yes ma'am," he says, flashing a bright smile at you. You give him a quick peck on the lips before disappearing into one of the stalls.

You're actually excited to try on this dress. The picture of how you think it'll look is clear in your mind as you slip the dress over your body. You adjust it to perfection and then turn towards the mirror. Your smile automatically fades. The dress was flattering, yes, but not on you. It was incredibly awkward looking and it seemed to highlight the parts of your body that you're most insecure about. You gulp and turn around as your try to find a right angle. Surely you have to look good somehow. The skirt looks great itself, but it doesn't look great with your legs and waist. The top is awkward as it stretches over your chest and stomach.

You can feel yourself crumble at the seams. Your self esteem drops to an all time low as you take it all in. There's a sudden tapping on your stall door. "___? Sweetie, are you okay?"

"Yeah," you say. "I'm fine."

"We're going to be late for lunch with the gang. Are you ready to show me the dress?"

"I-I don't know if I like it," you admit.

"What do you mean? You liked it over there. Open the door." You obey. You shamefully hang your head as he takes in your appearance. "Wow! ___, you're gorgeous! What don't you like about it?"

"I just don't like it. I'm going to change." You turn back to shut the door, but Tadashi grabs a hold of your wrist.

"What's wrong?" You frown and look down. "Sweetie. . ."

"I don't like the way I look in this dress," you admit. "I just. . . I see how everyone else looks and I just-"

Tadashi takes both of your hands and dips his head down to look into your eyes. "___ ______, do you not see how beautiful you are?" You don't reply. Tadashi sighs. "There's not one way someone has to look. You're so hard on yourself everyday. You look absolutely perfect the way you are. Every time I look at you I have to catch my breath. I am so in love with everything about you." He strokes your cheek, which makes you smile. "Please don't think badly of yourself, okay?"

"Okay," you say, wrapping your arms around him. You lean your head back and he kisses you lightly. You can feel the smile on his lips. "I love you, 'Dashi."

"I love you, too," he assures you, resting his hands on your hips.

"Do you really think I look okay in this?" You pull back, just keeping your hand in his.

"I think that you look more than okay," he says, gazing approvingly at the dress. "It's beautiful on you. You've always looked good in white." He kisses the top of your head. "Which is why I'm more than excited to marry you."

You blush and laugh. "I love you so much."

"And I love you."

"Alright, I'll change and then we can go." He steps out of the way and you shut the door. As you change back into your clothes, you feel great about the way you look. It shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks. Tadashi loves you, and he's right. There's not one specific way a person has to look. You smile when you hang the dress back on the hangar. Which is why I'm more than excited to marry you. He hasn't asked yet, but something makes you think that he will on the next date, when you'll be wearing this white dress.
