IT'S HALLOWEEN YAY
A Fred x Reader that I thought of~
(Unedited).
"Wait up, Fred!" you cry out, trying to run as fast as your plastic high heels will allow. It's Halloween night, and you're trick-or-treating with your best friend, Fred. He's only a couple years older than you, him being seven, you five, but his legs are still much longer. "Fred, you're going too fast!" You shout in a panic. The neighborhood is a little empty now; all of the adults have shut their doors and turned off their porch lights. Most of the kids have returned home with their stash of candy. Fred turns quickly to the right, back towards the even richer part of the neighborhood. "Fred!" But by the time you reach the corner, he's gone. You try to catch your breath as you stand there. "Fred," you whisper, letting out a quiet whimper.
You bite your lip and spin around to observe your surroundings. This isn't your neighborhood; Fred told you that you should trick-or-treat in his neighborhood because some of the houses hand out king sized candy bars. You have no idea where you're really at, or where Fred is at. The houses here are more like mansions, and each and every one looks the exact same.
Your feet are killing you. The light green sparkly shoes seemed like a good idea when you picked out your fairy costume, but now the shoes noisily scrape across the wet pavement. Not only that, but your wings are slowly sliding off your shoulders and the glitter that covers you itches your skin. You start walking back towards the way you came.
As you pass the turn towards the rougher part of town, you hear footsteps. You look up and see a few older kids. They're probably around fourteen or so. They hold scary masks in their hands and plastic knives. You turn your head away and walk as quickly as your heels will allow.
"Whoa, hey! Look!" one says. You swallow as you hear them running closer to you. They jump out in front of you. You scream. They're all wearing the terrifying masks. They laugh at you. You back away and try to walk around them. One steps in front of you and smiles. "You're out pretty late, huh, kid?"
"I was with my friend. He ran off."
The guy pouts. "Ran off, huh? Well, we can help you. You just have to give us something in return." He points to the orange pumpkin bucket in your hands. "Give us your candy, kid."
You tighten your grip on the black handle. "What? No way! This is mine."
"Just give it to us."
"No!" You run off. You're only a couple steps ahead when someone grabs your wing and pulls you back. They grab your candy and yank it from your grasp. You fall back in a puddle.
"Hey!" Fred yells. You look up and see him running to you, his red cape flying out behind him. He reaches down and lifts you up. You whimper at the feeling of the cold water that has soaked your clothes. "You can't do that!"
"Sorry, little guy," A guy with a clown mask says. He's the one that shoved you. He shoves a handful of candy into his pocket. "It's already done, so." He laughs at you. You grab Fred's arm and hide your face in his cape.
"You guys are mean! One day you'll regret this!"
"Kid, I'm not sure if you're aware, but you're not an actual super hero." He tosses a candy bar to his friend. They all laugh and walk the opposite way.
"Come on, ___. Let's get home."
Later that night, you sit beside Fred. You're staying the night with him. You are pretending to pay attention to the Halloween cartoon that plays on his TV. You yawn, grab your teddy bear, and curl up beside him, finally warm in your pajamas. Fred grabs his green bucket. He dumps all of his candy on his bed. You frown, realizing that you can't trade candy with him this year. Fred takes his hands and scoops out a pile of candy. He drops it in front of you, and then adds another pile.
"Why'd you give me this?" you ask him.
Fred smiles sadly. "I'm sorry that I left you behind. I'm the reason your candy is gone and they ruined your dress. I didn't think that you would get lost. I'm not a very good super hero."
"What? You're the best hero! You stood up to them and you gave me candy!" You reach up and kiss his cheek. His eyes widen and his cheeks turn red. You giggle. "Thank you for saving me, Super Fred."
Fred grins. "It was my pleasure, fairy princess. But please, call me Fredzilla."
