This is short because I'm SUPER BUSY. But it's pretty darn fluffy. So here. This might be the last update for a while. Sorry I stink at updating.
Tadashi x Reader~
(Unedited).
It's the end of the semester at SFIT. You and Tadashi have been studying non-stop. Normally, you'd give yourself breaks, but this is your senior year. After these finals, you graduate. And after you graduate. . .
You and Tadashi go your separate ways. He stays here, in San Fransokyo. You're going back to (hometown).
It's not going to be easy. The two of you have been together since high school. . .
Long distance relationships are never fun. They never work out well.
Today, you're sitting on Tadashi's couch, your back pressed against his chest. You're reading a chapter from your robotics text book. Tadashi runs a hand up and down your arm as you read. After a few minutes, he takes the book from you.
"Tadashi," You object. "We have to study."
He shakes his head and drops his head down to your shoulder.
"Our final is tomorrow."
"I don't care," He whispers. He pulls you around to face him and lifts your arms up to his shoulders. His lips find yours immediately, and he kisses you softly and quickly. He cradles your face in his hands. His fingers brush gently through the hair that falls close to your cheeks. "Stay here."
"I can't," You say in a sad voice. "I have to go home."
"San Fransokyo is your home," He whispers.
"Tadashi. . ." You breathe. You kiss him. "I can't."
Tadashi touches his forehead to yours. "Marry me, then."
You smile. "Tadashi. You can't propose like this. Where's the flowers? The ring?" You joke. "Besides, we haven't even graduated."
"Does that matter?" He asks.
"Uh, yes," You reply. "My family needs me to come home. My job is back there."
"You don't need that job. Stay here. With me. I'll take care of you, ___."
You frown and pull away. "Tadashi."
"You're right. I'm sorry. You should go home." He kisses your cheek. His eyes are wet with tears. "I'm just. . . really going to miss you."
"Yeah," You say with a sigh. "I'll be missing you, too." You lay your head on Tadashi's shoulder so you don't have to look at those brown eyes. You can't cry in front of him. That's ridiculous.
~
You can't decide on whether you're pleased or heartbroken that you've graduated college. As Aunt Cass drives you and her nephews to a restaurant, you stare at the diploma on your lap. Tadashi keeps his hand on yours. He's silent. What is he thinking?
Dinner is a blur. You try to make it go by slower. . . tomorrow, you leave. This is your last day with these dorks. Tadashi leans over to you while Aunt Cass and Hiro finish their desserts.
"Walk with me?" He whispers.
You nod.
"Aunt Cass? We're going outside for a minute. Okay?"
"Okay," Cass says, her mouth full of custard. "Don't stay out too long."
Tadashi nods and leads you out of the restaurant. The two of you walk, hand in hand, until you reach the end of the street. Tadashi pulls you into your arms and you can't help but cry.
"Hey, hey," He whispers. "Don't cry."
"I can't help it. . . I don't want to say goodbye."
"You don't have to," He whispers. "___, I love you. We don't have to end this. . . we'll just wait. Okay?" You nod. "I want to be with you. I don't want to just. . . move on." Tadashi kisses the top of your head. "___?"
"What?" You whisper. You look up at him. Much to your surprise, he gets down on one knee. He pulls out a ring.
"Marry me," He whispers. "Will you marry me?"
"Tadashi."
"We've graduated," He says with a smirk.
"I'm not staying," You say.
"I'm not asking you to stay. I'm asking you to marry me."
You laugh and wipe your hand across your tear stained cheek. You nod. "Yeah. I'll marry you, Tadashi."
Tadashi slides the ring up your finger and stands. He hugs you closely.
"You know," you say, "you forgot the flowers."
Tadashi laughs and kisses you softly. "I'll get you all the flowers in the world, ___."
"That's kind of impossible," You whisper.
"Shh! You're ruining the romance."
You kiss again. "I love you, Tadashi. More than anything." And suddenly, this wasn't so sad. You're here. With Tadashi. And maybe you won't be with him all of the time - in person, at least - but you'll be with him. And he wants to be with you forever. You'll be back with him one day. You'll have a life with him. A family. And then you won't have to leave his side.
"I love you, too, ___. More than anything."
