I'm not afraid of the act of death
But what comes after
Is there anything after death
Beside heartache and pain
I'm not afraid of the act of death
I experienced death at a young age
Figuratively and literally
Figuratively when I forced myself
To hide and develop my voice
Literally because my father figures
Died when I was pretty young
I'm not afraid of the act of death
It's the unknown that I'm afraid of
I don't believe in the concept of
Haven or hell if you do your just
A person on a leash that keeps you good
Perhaps the afterlife is just one big void
Who's to say none of us really
I'm not afraid of the act of death
The afterlife is just speculation
Nothing is set in stone for
All we know every religion could be true
But we don't know if that's true
We just believe it to be instead
Of something unknown
I'm not afraid of the act of death
We all fear something for a lot
It's death because it's so unpredictable
And how it's emotionally draining
As well as financially draining
The pain from death isn't overcome
You grow around the grief
I'm not afraid of the act of death
Plus sometimes the wounds of death
They get reopened you'll be fine one moment
Then the next you sobbing
Longing to be in the presence of
A loved one who has died or possibly a pet
I'm not afraid of the act of death
When I die I hope to embrace it
I know I'll be slightly scared of it
But it'll be the last day on this plane of hell
The last time I'll have to be terrified
Of my PTSD getting triggered
I'm not afraid of the act of death
