It happens to everyone yet its from anyone
Sometimes it's yourself that betrays you
Yet if the betrayal comes from friends who
Decide to defend someone who hurt it you
It's even more fucked up yet unfortunately
It seems like human nature to me people
Become sycophants towards someone
They deem worth it just for the social status
I've seen it first hand in school something
Happened between two people yet no one
Wanted to hear the other person out just
Because it involved a cool kid shits fucking
Pathetic to do just because someone is cool
It happens to everyone yet its from anyone

The event made question just who I hung
Around to abandon your best friend over
Someone who was cool I dipped from that
Tried hearing the other side to the story I
Never did but wherever that person I hope
That they're doing better now and I'm truly
Sorry for how I acted but you were pretty
Cool shot my attitude back at me yet I
Wouldn't admit back then just wish that
Shit didn't happen at all I guess it's why
I stuck to myself so much can't get betrayed
And if I do it of my own accord yet it'll still
Hurt even when it's your own doing won't it

Betrayal makes you question everything on
All the levels possible those question it'll
Lead to you falling off the cliff drowning
In the thoughts that rain down in your head
The spiral of madness driven by avoiding
Anything that can be used to betray you
But you gotta press on on find the courage
To face the uncertainty of the battle ahead
Keep going no matter what take a break
When you need to just don't give up on
Yourself when everyone has a fear of betrayal
It's only natural as unfortunately that is
But when you give up the fight step off
The cliff in to the death grip of negative
Thoughts that's when you truly betray yourself
You may think you're alone but someone
Out there will have your back friend or family
You're never truly alone in your battles you
