Ghost

Never felt like I belonged
Always forgotten
Never really cared
Truly prefer the solitude
Escape the numbing silence through games

Music makes me feel like I belong
Was always the outcast
Hide the pain behind a mask
It's cracking and crumbling quickly fix it
So they don't know what I went through

Just to be betrayed by my eyes
They show the pain I hold deep within my soul
Kept the mask up anyway force of habit (FUCK)
That's how it is for the ghost that is me

Never truly know when the mask was put on
I know it was around 5th grade after my grandfather died
Ever since I've worn a mask
Always making sure it'll fool people who don't truly know me

Always fixing it perhaps that's why I feel like a ghost
Perhaps not who's to say you'd think it'd be me
But truth is you learn to blend in as best you can
All the while staying under the radar for as

Long as you can in fear of social interaction
It's funny I still feel like a ghost yet now social interaction is all I crave
Con is I feel like a nuisance to most people
I talk to so I just get through life being a ghost

Numb to the emotions I feel till they break free
Numb to the world as if I'm dead and truly am a ghost
Knowing I'm alive is jarring because do people remember me
Or am I a ghost forgotten with the wind on
A chilly fall day that makes me wonder
What impact if any can a ghost like myself have on others
