Everything becomes altered
The thing that alters people the most
In my experience is hell which leads to trauma
In a situation where the choices are
Endure and survive or lose it and die
That's always gonna change someone
Everything becomes altered
Once you experience anything traumatic
It alters just about everything in you
Joyful person guess what depressed and distant
But that's my personal experience
Always hide behind a mask so those
Around you are comfortable and pleased
Deep down I'm just an amalgamation of parts
Try to pass off as normal if you saw
What's actually under the mask would
You still see me in the same light as
The masked version I present to you
Everything becomes altered
When you become altered the closest
People feel more like strangers than family
Some are understanding of the situation
And how it changed others tell you it
Was because how you dressed or acted
But that's just an example either way
You didn't deserve trauma for someone
Who can't control their behavior does it
Justify their behavior fuck no hold them
Accountable for what they did
Everything becomes altered
When you realize thing can be altered
At any given moment of life you understand
The value those who are closest to you
But at the same time you wonder who
Would be there for you if you were abused
Who would take the time to hear your story
And take your side who will chose the abusers side
Who will stay natural and tell you to
Figure it between yourselves
These are questions we should always ask
Everything becomes altered
Every day I wonder who actually cares
If I just listen to the thoughts and end it
I know people will care I know it would
Cause a lot of pain but this world is cruel
Those who have power lord over the weak
They use fear as their main weapon against us
Those who hurt me they used my fear against me
The abuse I became numb to the hell
Around me just so I'd survive it
So much so I'm always wondering what
Does a loving family look like what
The actual hell is a normal family
There's so much that I was desensitized to
I remember a time I told a friend in school
That my dipshit dad raped my oldest sister
Not knowing how wrong it was to casually
Say such a statement let alone publicly
Like I said I became numb to hell
Everything becomes altered
