Day 272
Thursday 25th May 2017 20:08

It was the second Q&A debate today in Triton's. It was certainly a debate to remember; very lively, very heated and with a dramatic and unexpected interruption.

Minutes before the debate, the other candidates and I were backstage getting ready. The venue was once again full and I was once again feeling nervous. Esther and I were exchanging focused and serious looks, signalling that we knew what we were going to say to unmask Dump's outrageous behaviour and expose him for stealing our ideas.

John, who was once again facilitating the session, approached the four of us and led us on to the stage.
I looked out into the crowds I saw all of my supporters including Naomi, Troy, Trudy, TJ and even Lindon. I was feeling a little bit anxious but I was raring to go. Esther and I exchanged another look of determination and the four of us then approached the lecterns. John officially opened the session and introduced us all. Before Esther, Mia or I had a chance to say a word Dump burst into a full on public speech. "Fellow residents of Dumpville," he loudly said, "I think it's time for us to get serious about this election. We've heard enough from Esther about planning and outcomes, we've heard enough from Mia about flying pink unicorns and I think we can all definitely agree we've SEEN enough from Luke and his uncontrollable bowels. We now need strong and stable leadership and I have great pleasure in telling everyone that many of the ideas put forward by my fellow candidates are going to feature in my new regime, if you vote for me and keep me as your leader." Esther and I exchanged shocked expressions. I didn't expect Dump to be this honest and open. It really took me by surprise. I immediately felt angry. Esther completely lost her rag. "This is outrageous!" she loudly exclaimed, "What sort of leader takes part in a debate and steals his competitor's ideas?!" "None of these ideas are OWNED by anyone," said Dump, "Anyway, I thought you'd be pleased that I've taken your suggestions on board." Esther addressed the crowds and pointed at Dump. "This man will do anything to remain in leadership," she assertively said, "And he has just proved this! This man is a sexist, misogynistic, racist, homophobic dictator who shouldn't be allowed to run a shower, never mind a community in an apocalypse." Run a shower! I like that. "I think it's important to point out my track record," said Dump, "I have kept you all safe for months and I did that long before Esther, Mia and Luke got here. I am an MP and I am the only person here in this room who has been elected by the people to represent the people and let's be honest, I am the only feasible candidate in this election. Mia thinks unicorns exist, Esther has the personality of a cactus and Luke gets so overwhelmed by pressure he soils himself on stage. If you vote for me I will ensure that all those wishing to learn how to drive will be taught, people will be offered lessons on how to use weapons and defend themselves but the lessons will be delivered by Army trained personnel. If anyone wants to leave Dumpville and explore the world outside they will be able to do so but I will ensure a trained armed soldier also goes along to ensure safety. I plan to set up a council and also develop a long term strategic plan that will help expand Dumpville and help us plan for the future." I was furious. He had stolen all of my ideas. Mia leaned towards me. "Unicorns are real aren't they?" she whispered. I ignored Mia and turned to Dump. "That's what I said the other day!" I loudly snapped, "You've just stolen all my ideas." "And mine!" snapped Esther, "This is appalling." "This is politics," said Dump. He then turned and addressed the crowds. "Fellow residents of Dumpville," said Dump, "You need an experienced and effective leader and that leader, is me. We have recently been through traumatic events and suffered losses. We are also without our sergeants. During such a stressful and uncertain time do you really want to appoint a new leader or do you want to maintain some consistency?" "It's your so called leadership that has led to these stressful and uncertain times," said Esther. "My leadership has ensured the safety and survival of everyone in this room," said Dump. "You've nicked our ideas," I angrily said, "That's bang out of order." "The questions these good people have to answer," said Dump, "Is, who is the best person to execute these ideas? A man who soils himself on stage, kills two innocent people after killing a child; a woman who had sex with a married man and then aborted her baby, or a girl who thinks the capital of the UK is 'L.'" Mia, again leaned towards me. "Who's he talking about?" she whispered. I had no idea how Dump knew about me killing Robbie, Ashley and Jessica, or how he knew about Esther's abortion but I was NOT happy. Esther and I exchanged awkward and uncomfortable Looks. This big orange pr*ck had just exposed our big secrets on stage in front of everyone and made us look like a couple of unstable, immoral idiots. It was meant to be us who were going to embarrass him! Some members of the crowd gave me and Esther some unimpressed and judgemental stares. "How the Hell do you know that?" Esther asked Dump. "I make it my business to know everything," said Dump, "That's what good leadership is all about." "We've all made mistakes," I said to Dump. "Well you certainly have, haven't you?" Dump said to me, "In order to secure votes you've promised to turn Triton's into a gay bar, facilitate a wet T Shirt competition, lock people in stocks and let people throw food at them and allow a man with no experience to manage a morgue." Dump turned to the crowds. "People," he said, "Is this who you want to be your leader?" Dump had made me look like a right pr*t. He'd done a great job of discrediting me and from the looks on everyone's faces it looked like they were starting to lean more towards him than anyone else. I felt so angry but very deflated at the same time. I'm glad Dump didn't say anything about me having sex with Esther. I know he doesn't know it's Esther who I'm shagging but he knows I'm shagging someone. I was really curious as to how he knew about Esther's abortion and me killing Robbie, Ashley and Jessica. Someone must have told him, but who? There wasn't time for me to ponder on this for long; just as Dump was giving a speech and getting more residents on side, one of the soldiers came running in shouting that Sergeant Reed was back!

The entire Q&A debate stopped and everyone went running out of Triton's towards the main entrance to Dumpville. Sergeant Reed was knelt on the floor in a dishevelled state, looking grubby and with cuts and bruises on his face. I was shocked to see that he had Debra Meikle in his arms. She also looked grubby and had a deep cut on her forehead. She was struggling to breathe. A man had arrived with them and he was stood over them. Dump appeared on the scene and I noticed how uncomfortably shocked he looked when he saw Debra. "What the Hell is SHE doing back here?!"he shouted. "We were over run," said Reed, "It's like a jungle out there. Dobbs and Matson are dead." Loud gun shots were suddenly heard. Everyone screamed and looked up. The soldiers who were stood on the wall next to the main entrance were firing at the growling infected from outside. "You brought the infected here?!" Dump angrily said to Reed. "We've been running for our lives," snapped Reed. "How many are out there?" I asked. "It doesn't matter!" Dump loudly snapped, ""The soldiers can deal with it." As the growls of the infected increased in volume and the soldier's gunfire became more rapid everyone started panicking so Dump turned round and addressed them. "Everyone please stay calm!" He loudly said, "The solders are perfectly capable of dealing with the infected. They cannot get in here so please, stay calm." "Still trying to take control are you Dump?" asked Debra struggling to breathe as she gave Dump a venomous stare. Dump frowned and then looked at the nearby soldiers as the others continued shooting at the screeching infected outside. "Right!" Dump loudly said looking at the nearby soldiers and pointing at Debra, "Take her and the new arrival to quarantine, Reed, you need to clean yourself up and then report to my office, everyone else go home." People started firing loads of questions at Dump. "QUIET!" he shouted, "I TOLD YOU ALL TO GO HOME SO GO HOME!" The soldiers on the wall stopped firing their guns. "They're all dead!" one of the solders called, "That's the last of them." Dump nodded at the soldiers in acknowledgement and then again told everyone to go home. "Debra, are you alright?" asked Naomi. "Don't talk to her!" snapped Dump. "I'll talk to who the Hell I want," said Naomi. "She is going to quarantine and you are going home," said an aggressive Dump, "Now I'm not telling you again. GO HOME!" Everyone slowly started to disburse. I looked back and saw Esther giving Dump a smug look. "Strong and stable leadership?" she sarcastically said. Dump gave her an evil look and then Esther walked off. It was obvious that Dump was desperately trying into maintain control but it was even more obvious that he was struggling. Maybe Reed's arrival and Dump's outburst might have undone the damage during the Q&A session.

Later on Esther came to see me. She asked me how Dump knew about her and Matt Boyd and the abortion. "I hope you're not implying I said anything," I said, "I'm just as angry as you. He knew stuff about me too, remember?" "Well someone has told him," said Esther, "And I think we need to find out who." "Well who'd say anything?" I asked, "No one would blab." "Well someone obviously has," said Esther, "And it makes me wonder who we can trust and what else Dump knows?" I looked at Esther and gave her a sexy smile. "So," I said, "You didn't just come round here to talk about Dump did you?" Esther frowned and I could see her nostrils flare. "That's exactly why I came round," she bluntly said. "Really?" I said with a cheeky grin. "Yes, really," Esther firmly said. "No but come on," I said with flirtatious glint in my eye, "Really, really?" "Yes, really, really," said Esther, bluntly. "But, really though?" I asked, giving Esther a wink. "Luke, let me be clear," said Esther, "I only came round here to talk to you about Dump and now I'm starting to wish I hadn't. I'll see you tomorrow. Try and think about who could have blabbed." I really thought Esther would have been up for sex. I hate how weak I am. The sex only happens when she wants it and I'm too much of a knob thinking with my d*ck to say no.

I am not sure what's going to happen with the election now. I guess Dump's priority right now is speaking to Reed and dealing with Debra. I wonder who the guy is who arrived back with them. I suppose we'll find out tomorrow. I don't like the idea of a big pile of dead infected being outside the main entrance but I suppose it's better that they're on that side of the main entrance than inside. Everyone's got questions for Reed; what happened out there? Did they see Mary? Did they see Mike? How did Dobbs and Matson die? I'm keen to know who the man is who arrived and if Dump's previous accusation of Debra abusing her son is true. Lots of questions but will we get any answers?
