Day 258
Thursday 11th May 2017 18:33

It's been a quiet day.

I haven't really seen anyone. I spoke to Naomi about what she said. She was sat alone on the swings in the children's playground. She looked sad so I asked if she was OK. She said she was thinking about Seth and how great it would be if he was here and they were raising Amelia together. "He was a great guy," said Naomi, "Perfect almost. Good looking, caring, intelligent, athletic, a great cook, an amazing lover. God, we'd have been great parents together. Oh, I'm just having one of those days where I'm feeling sorry for myself. You must have days where you miss being with your wife." "Hell no, she was an absolute b*tch," I said, "She made Esther look like Mother Teresa."

I've been thinking about what John said to me yesterday on the beach and I spoke to Naomi about it. She thinks that killing Roger is a good idea. I was really shocked to hear this. "You can't be serious," I said. "Yeah," said Naomi, "I think John's got a good point. Why are we looking after a confessed paedophile?" "We're hardly looking after him are we?" I said, "He's locked up in a chalet under armed guard." "Yeah," said Naomi, "Being protected, fed and watered. Why are we giving a perverted paedophile our supplies? People aren't happy about it. If the sergeants don't come back there'll be no one to go out on regular runs and bring back food. Then we'll be in trouble. We should be rationing what we have not feeding dirty paedos." "You can't seriously think that killing him is the right thing to do?" I said. "What's the alternative?" asked Naomi, "We keep him in a chalet under armed guard for the foreseeable future?" "Would you have wanted Mary dead?" I asked. "That's different," said Naomi, "Mary left. Roger's never going to leave is he? Anyway I think there's a bit of a difference between abusing a fourteen year old and abusing a terrified, confused nine year old. We've killed infected because they were a threat to us. Roger's a threat to children." "Well maybe we should speak to Dump and encourage him to chuck Roger out," I said, "It'd be better than killing him." "You said John wants him dead," said Naomi. "He does," I said, "But it's not his decision. Anyway it's pointless talking about it. We don't know where he is." "I'm sure we could find out," said Naomi. "Just forget about it," I said, "If John wants to go out of his way to look for Roger and kill him then that's up to him." "He might need a hand," said Naomi. "Oh for God's sake," I said, "Please don't get involved. You've got a kid to look after." "Exactly," said Naomi, "I want her to be safe." "She is safe," I said, "Roger's locked up in a chalet away from everyone." "She'll be safer if he's not here," said Naomi, "All of the kids will." "I wish I hadn't said anything now" I said. "You said John was going to do this with or without your help," said Naomi, "So maybe there's a way he could do this with a bit of help and not get found out." "Are you seriously considering helping John to find Roger and kill him?" I asked. "Well he asked you didn't he?" said Naomi, "So that just shows how desperate he is. Luke, Roger held Amelia in his arms a few times and the thought of that creeps me out, in fact the thought of him being around here somewhere sickens me. Why are you so keen to protect a child abuser?" "I'm not!" I exclaimed, "I just think we should let the soldiers worry about him, be thankful he's away from us all and get on with life." "Maybe if you had kids to look after you'd feel differently," said Naomi. "Look, if you help John, and Dump finds out he'll go mad," I said. "He won't find out," said Naomi, "No one else needs to know. We'll keep it just between us." "More secrets," I said, rolling my eyes, "What with Esther shagging a married man, Mary being a child sex offender, you making out Amelia's your daughter, Trudy pretending to a Nun and then killing a Nun, DeShawn being a cross dresser, Lindon shagging dead bodies, and me and TJ sending Mike away, I think the idea of secretly plotting to kill Roger is another secret that's one too much for me. Naomi, if you're going to do this, I don't want to be involved. Just think before you do anything and look after yourself." I didn't want to come across as too dismissive but I really don't want to be involved. For once I'm enjoying the peace and quiet.

The sergeants still haven't returned. It's not looking good.
