Day 399
Friday 29th September 2017 23:16I had a right go at Courtney today. The little madam's been getting right on my nerves.
The day started with me doing my usual thing of looking through the cracks of the boarded up windows to see if I could find Naomi. "What's up?" Trudy asked me, "Are there any infected out there?" "No," I said, "I'm just looking." "Looking for what?" she asked. I gave Trudy a shocked and annoyed look. "Well what do you think I'm looking for?" I exclaimed, "The ice cream van?" "You won't get an ice cream round here," Auntie Meryl said from the sofa, "They only drive out to the built up areas." "I'm looking for Naomi," I said to Trudy. "Well there's no point in looking out of the window," said Trudy. Courtney then appeared, curious to what Trudy and I were talking about. "Why?" I firmly snapped at Trudy, "Do you think she'd dead? Are you saying she's dead?" "No I'm not saying she's dead you arsey d*ckhead," snapped Trudy, "I'm saying that if she comes back she'll just knock on the door and we'll let her in. There's no point in pacing up and down and staring out of the window. Nicola can look after herself." "Well I think she's dead," said a moody Courtney, "And I hope she is." "Oh for God's sake, Courtney," I said, "Will you shut up?" "No, why should I?" she snapped, "She wanted Goyle to kill my boyfriend. Have you forgotten about that?" "No I haven't forgotten about that," I firmly said, "But you shouted at Goyle to kill Seth. Have you forgotten about that?" "Yeah well you have to look after the ones you love," said Courtney. "Is that why you released the infected from the garage?" I asked, "Because you love Josh?" "I've told you," said Courtney, "I released the infected because I thought they'd attack the ACROBAT soldiers and give us all enough time to get away, and I was right." "You did that all that because you were worried about Josh," I said, "Not because you were worried about the rest of us." "What's your problem?" snapped Courtney, "The plan was to release the infected anyway." "Yes," I snapped, "When the time was right, not to just run off and do it without thinking. Because of you Seth is dead." "No!" snapped Courtney, loudly, "You said he'd been shot. I didn't do that." "I also said he had a massive bite mark in his neck," I said, "We don't know what killed him; being shot or being bitten. It might have been ACROBAT's fault; it might have been yours. I guess we'll never know." "Oh whatever," snapped Courtney. I felt a sudden sense of anger come over me. As Courtney started to walk away, I grabbed hold of her hand and dragged her back in front of me. "Oi," she said.
"Now you listen to me young lady," I snapped in a deep manly voice and feeling like an old man for using the phrase 'young lady', "You need to start thinking before you act. I know you don't like Naomi, but do you know what, she's not your biggest fan either. You shouted at Goyle to kill her husband, you nearly let her fall off a cliff and you unleashed the infected which caused Seth to get bitten. So stop behaving like a stroppy cow and stop acting like you're the poor little victim because you're not. Oh, and another thing, Naomi didn't shout at Goyle to kill Josh; she wanted to come to some arrangement. It was you that was doing all the shouting. You're being a selfish little madam and I've had enough, so if you want to tell people that you hope Naomi's dead, tell someone else because I don't want to hear it, now p*ss off." Courtney's bottom lip started to tremble and it looked like she was about to cry.
Courtney ran off leaving me with a shocked Trudy. "Well f*ck me hard with a rolling pin," she said, "I don't think I've ever heard your voice go that deep." "Well I think she needed telling," I said. "You're right," said Trudy, "Moody mare walks around here like she owns the place. She's been getting on my tits for days. Good for you Nanna."
I'm laid in bed now wondering if I went too far with Courtney. She's a fifteen year old girl and maybe my tone was a bit too aggressive. I told Mike what happened and he said he thought Courtney needed telling off but he doesn't like it when I get angry. I spoke to TJ and he thought I did the right thing. "She might not like Naomi," said TJ, "And do you know what, Naomi might be dead, but you don't walk around saying you hope she's dead amongst people that care about her." TJ's right. Maybe I was a bit harsh on Courtney but I'm not going to apologise; the little madam needs to learn when to keep her opinions to herself and her mouth shut.
