"Thanks so much mom. It means a lot to us for you to be here so quickly."  Scarlett praises her mother.

"It's not a problem. I've been dying for a night with my Rosie." Scarlett's mom says back to her.

Scarlett's mom came over to watch Rose for us. Tonight I am going on a stake out and I'm bringing Scarlett along. Danny got Olivia's schedule and I'm going to follow her around all night to see what she gets into. And what better company than your super gorgeous, thankfully entertaining wife.

"I'm not sure what time we will be back but please feel free to use anything in the house and order dinner. I left cash on the table. Don't use your card please! Let me treat you for once!" I beg Melanie. She refuses to ever let me buy anything for her.

"Oh you hush. You better get going!" She says glancing at Rose who is already wrapped in a blanket on the couch. She is excited to spend a little time with her grandmother and I'm excited to spend a little time with Scarlett, and also show her a bit of what I used to do.

Being a lawyer, people always think the straight way. Boring office, either defend or prosecute and then roll around in your cut of money. But they don't see the 8 years of schooling. The 800+ unpaid intern hours. The volunteer work in crime labs so you can study more about the how's and why's. The law school lectures you'd fly in for just to learn about something for the 9th time, but you had to be sure you had all the facts. It's time consuming and your a police officer, detective, and prosecutor or defender all in one but I love the thrill of surprise. That's what got me hooked.

"Who's car is this?" Scarlett asks as we walk outside.

"Ours" I say and she laughs.

"A Honda civic? Are we going to street race too?" Scarlett laughs and I love the way her laugh immediately makes me smile.

"No dork. It's one of the most popular cars on the street right now, and it had tinted windows. So we blend in and can't be spotted if she looks at the car." I explain

"Ohhh. Smart." She smirks and gets into the passenger side. I get in the drivers side and head toward Danny's. I obviously had to invite him. It's his accusations, and hed know id obviously be down to catch Olivia in any sort of  controversy.

We pull up to his house and he's standing outside already with a plastic bag and a duffel bag in his hands. He gets in the backseat when I stop and scoots in.

"Hey guys! You ready for this?" He asks very excited.

"Yes! I've never been on a stake out before. Should we wear eye black or face paint?" Scarlett asks

"Face paint? It's a stake out not a raid by the army" I laugh. "We just find her, and follow her around. See who she's with and if she's with anyone interesting we take their picture. Then we can question her on the relationship between the two in picture" I explain and Scarlett nods listening along.

I follow the directions to a restaurant Olivia is supposed to be at and park across the street from it. "What if she's not here" Scarlett asks

"She better be here. But otherwise, I dunno. I guess we gotta find her" I laugh

"Shouldn't be hard, look for the tall blonde raging Cunt face" Danny says and me and scar start bursting out laughing.

"What if she's inside? You can't see her from here?" Scarlett says

"We will have to wait for her to leave" I say

"But what if she leaves alone! I'm gonna go inside" Scarlett suggests.

"No way. You'll get spotted."

"I won't! Cmon, isn't this suppose to be fun! Let me help!!" She begs
