Bellamy and I stayed in the tower with the rest of the wounded as most of the others went down. I could hardly walk and he need to recover from his blood donation. I was laying down on a mountain of blankets and Bellamy was right next to me, but he was sitting up with his back against the wall.
When I looked up to face him, I could tell he was thinking about everything that had just happened. "Are you okay?" I asked gently.
He looked down to me and reached to push tiny strands of my sweat filled hair out of my face. "I'm okay," he said in a low voice as he took in the sight of my face.
"Do you think Bear is okay?" I asked him, missing my companion.
"Bear is always fine. Raven is taking care of him," Bellamy reassured me. He never took his hand away from my face, like he was reminding himself that I was actually alive and there with him. I could see tears start to form in his eyes as he spoke to me again, "your heart stopped. You died. I should never have let that happen."
Guilt was riddled all over his face which made tears slip from my eyes as well.
"Don't do that to yourself," I whispered to him. In all reality, Bellamy saved my life. He was the one giving me CPR. He couldn't completely protect me in a brawl like the one we were in.
"I made your mom a promise that I'd never let that happen to you," Bellamy told me, his voice cracked slightly.
"You brought me back," I said to him. I wish we were at Arkadia so I could visit her. My mom would be grateful of Bellamy and what he has done for me, not disappointed.
"I'm never going to lose you like that again," Bellamy told me seriously. What happened to me broke him down.
"I know," I said back to him. I tried to give Bellamy a small smile, but I don't think it ever showed up on my face. My leg was still burning with pain no matter how hard I tried to ignore it. "We need to get down the tower."
Bellamy's expression turned, he was going to disagree with me, "we have to climb down. You're not going to be able to do that."
"I still have one good leg and two massive arms," I joked about my upper body strength. I saw my comment get a glimpse of a smile out of him. "Are you mad they're bigger than yours?"
"That's cute," Bellamy said to my question. He moved so he could help me get up. When he lifted my body I made sure not to put any pressure on my injured leg. "I'll get you down from here."
Bellamy aided me as we slowly made our way to the ladder down.
"How are we going to do this?" I asked as I stared down the tower.
"You're light. I've got you," Bellamy said as he pulled a rope out from his backpack. I didn't question him when he went to stand behind me. The front of his body was against my back and he tied the rope around both of our waists. Once we were secured to each other, we began down the ladder. I felt like a baby kangaroo from the way I was positioned. I was closest to the ladder while Bellamy was directly behind me. He was doing most of the work of getting us down, but I tried to take off the weight of myself from him by using my arms as well.
When we finally made it down, Bellamy untied us from each other. He then wrapped his arm around my lower back to help me walk. Every step hurt, but I didn't want to tell him that. He would have probably made me sit down and wait for him.
"Hello? Bellamy, come in," Raven's voice crackled over his radio. I snatched it before he could grab it.
"Raven? We're here," I answered back.
"Thank God. Did everyone make it?" I could hear her sigh.
"Most of us. Clarke too thanks to you," I explained. Clarke had told us that Raven helped her find the kill switch in the City of Light. "Bear?"
