I was searching the room, looking for the jar of flower paste I never found from a while ago. After Monty figured out we could repair the Ark to protect us from the radiation wave, all of my friends got busy. The thought that Clarke and I made the King a promise to help save them as well kept picking at my mind. Bellamy told me Clarke was handling it, but I made the promise too.

They were working on getting everything that needed to be done so our people could survive this.  I felt useless because I couldn't do much heavy lifting with my leg still healing and I was not tech savvy. My expertise was with Earth itself, nature.

I wanted to go out and find anything medicinal we could keep stocked in here before we were stuck for a while. Right when I was going to give up on finding it in here, Bellamy walked in.

"Good you're here. Remember when you gave Abby that medicine I had so she could use it for my surgery?" I asked him while turning to face his figure.

"Yeah, the purple stuff. Why?" He was intrigued.

"Did you put the jar anywhere. I'm going to go out and find more. If Bear could get it's scent it'll be easier to find," I explained. He had a face of objection, Bellamy did not want me to leave the camp, especially by myself. "Fine, you can come with."

I gave him a half smile and he returned it for just a second before responding. "I can't come with you, I have to go to Farm Station. We need the hydro generator that's in there."

My smile faded, "that's in Ice Nation."

"I know," he sighed. I did not like that he was going there. Even though we patched things up in Polis, word does not travel fast across hundreds of miles. There are definitely grounders out there that still think we're foes. I also knew he wouldn't let me come along with my leg still not being completely functional.

"You need to be careful when you go. They could still think we're their enemy," I said seriously.

"I know," he repeated. "You shouldn't go scavenging by yourself. You're still hurt."

He lectured me as he made his way further into the room. I watched as he knelt down by the bed and reached under it.

"I'll have Bear," I stated. Bellamy stood back up with the old jar in his hand and gave it to me. "I swear I looked under there."

"You didn't look good enough," Bellamy teased.

"When do you leave?" I questioned.

"Right now," he let me know. As bad as I wanted to tell him not to go, there was no other choice. We needed that hydro generator and Bellamy wasn't going to make others go get it without him.

"Be safe," I told him sincerely. Bellamy cupped my face with his hand and pulled me in so he could kiss me.

"You too," he said back to me after our kiss. Bellamy bent down to pet Bear. "Take care of my girl while I'm gone."

I let out a small laugh as he stood up and smiled at me. His smile was so charming to me, it turned his face younger and made his eyes brighter. I loved that I could bring it out of him sometimes.

"Take a horse. Don't go on foot," Bellamy instructed me.

"What a good idea," I said extremely sarcastic. No way was I going to walk on this leg if I could help it. Bellamy just shook his head at me.

When Bellamy left, I began packing a bag. Once I had everything I needed from the room, I left to get a few extra rations of food and water just in case. It's always a surprise out there. I made it to where we kept our rations and packed some in my bag. When I finished, I looked over to the sound of Raven's voice. She was directing a small group of people on what to get started on with the ship.

I walked up after she finished her spiel, "hey."

She looked stressed and I could hear it through her voice, "out of all the people here, only five volunteered."

I could see why this frustrated her. We never told anyone else about the radiation, Bellamy and Clarke didn't want to cause panic. I understand their reasoning, but I think people should have a say in their own life.

"We do what we can," I tried to support her.

"How's your leg?" She asked genuinely.

"Getting better, slowly," I replied. "I'm going out to scavenge some plants we can use as medicine. I don't really know how else to help while being crippled."

Raven gave me a soft smile, she appreciated my help even if it wasn't getting the Ark built.

"I can help," I turned to the sound of Jaha's voice.

I looked back to Raven, "that's my cue and your problem." She rolled her eyes at me before I walked off. I did not have patience to talk to Jaha, now or ever.

Once I got outside and to the horse I was going to take, I realized that it was going to be difficult to get on it with my leg. I made Bear sniff the inside of the jar and told him to seek. It took me a few tries to get on the horse, but I was able to do it eventually.

"Come," I told Bear as I started to trot out the gates. Bear led the way through the forest, he kept his snout close to the ground as he went along. I was getting nervous because we were heading towards sector seven. I wouldn't cross the boarder, but they might.

We looked through the woods for hours. I felt like I found everything but those flowers. My bag was filled with jars of other plants than can be preserved and useful. Now we were getting a little too close for comfort to Azegda.

I was about to turn and head back until I spotted a small village. Like a tiny village, there were only four huts set up so it was probably just a family. As I looked closer, I saw dead bodies. I couldn't not check it out, if someone was still alive they definitely needed help.

I got off the horse and secured him to a tree far in the woods. I didn't even have to tell Bear any commands, he already knew what I wanted him to do. He followed quietly behind me as we approached the camp. I stopped being so quiet when I saw five lifeless figures laying on the ground. I could see inside their huts and no one else was in there.

"Ok," I sighed to Bear, letting him know he's free to wander. I passed through the people just to really check that no one was still here. My eyes landed on the chip in the dirt next to an older woman. They were all killed by Alie. Their deaths looked brutal, blood and stab wounds covered all their bodies.

I flipped the woman to her side and pulled my knife out. I was not going to let this innocent family still be infected by this after death. I sliced the back of her neck open and dug my fingers into the incision. I grabbed a hold of the small, hard chip and pulled it out. I threw it far off into the field. Then I went to do it to the four other grounders.

It made me realize that I still never took that damn chip out of myself. I wanted to rip it out right now, but my hands were not sterile at all. It was a mix of five different people's blood. I was fine enough to wait until I got back to Arkadia.

My gaze shot to Bear when I heard him let out a low growl.

"Come," I told him and started hobbling back over to my horse. I didn't have the luxury of running right now, I couldn't waste anytime.
