We were staked out in the field, hiding in between crops and waiting patiently. Emori was to help finish building the EMP and then take off with it. She told us that we can use it to temporarily disarm the radiation shield around Sanctum, it would give us enough time to get through.

After several moments have passed, the sound of a motorbike played in my ears. I huffed out a breath of air from the sign that our plan was on track.

"It's a good plan," Bellamy looked over to me. "This will work."

I nodded to him as I looked back out to watch. I noticed a figure sprint past our spot in the crops, knowing that it was Emori. Her footsteps came to a stop when the sound of the bike turned off. Josephine was here, this was perfect.

"Emori what are you doing?" Murphy's voice emerged from the field.

"I'm sorry it had to be this way, John," Emori stated.

"Your offer stands for about ten more seconds," Josephine was growing upset, yet her tone still held spunk.

"Emori, we can go back like nothing happened," Murphy tried to reason with her. "Look, nobody will know about this. I told them not to tell the guards about any of this."

I motioned my hand to signal that it was time to make ourselves known. Bellamy, Echo and I emerged from the plants and approached the three figures, all eyes were on us.

"We were counting on that," Bellamy announced.

"Oh, perfect!" Josephine was fed up, but held her charm. "You know, I admire you guys. I really do. If the other Primes had half your balls, we'd be swimming in hosts and none of this would be necessary. But unfortunately, it is."

We kept moving forward towards them as Josephine spoke. Murphy has made his way to stand next to her and face us.

Josephine continued on with her speech, "So, I'm going to give you the facts because I really don't think you thought this through. Yes, Clarke's alive, but the brain we share is now dying... so unless one of you is a neurosurgeon, this body will die in hours, not days. My mind will be backed up and hers won't."

I couldn't help the cocky smirk that grew on my face, "we know, that's why our neurosurgeon is on his way."

Josephine hated the words that came out of my mouth. She turned her head to look at Murphy for an explanation. "Jackson," Murphy sighed out.

"Huh," Josephine scoffed as she looked back over to me. "Okay. Sure. Let's say that he figures it out. He won't, but, just for fun. Where are you gonna operate, here in a joberry field?"

"No. Not here," I shook my head. "But one of those fourteen research posts will do just fine. Thanks to the map your dad gave us, it was easy to find."

"Well, it's too bad you can't get past the radiation shield," Josephine sighed as she looked over to the shield only a few feet behind her.

"For someone who thinks they're so smart, you really can't put two and two together," I raised my eyebrow. Josephine was clearly ticked off by my comment. "There's a reason why that EMP is here."

As Josephine's face fell, Bellamy nodded to Emori, signaling her to bring the EMP closer to the shield. As she started to walk past Josephine and Murphy, Murphy attempted to follow her. Josephine reacted quickly, grabbing a hold of him and pulling a scalpel out quickly to hold against his throat. Murphy quickly stopped fighting against her now that his life was at risk.

"I'm sorry, John," Josephine panted sarcastically. "Step away from the device."

I saw Emori slowly lower the EMP and raise her hands up as she took a few steps sideways.

"You think we care about that traitor?" Bellamy attempted to play the hurt-by-betrayal card, but Josephine knew he was lying.

"Lord knows you shouldn't," she was almost shouting. "But, I know you do. Which brings us to yet another episode of 'no good choices.' Either you let Murphy die in a doomed attempt to save Clarke, starting a war with my father or we stay friends and live happily ever after. Take a minute to think it over."

I've had enough of her playing around. I attempted to lunge toward her, but Echo grabbed onto my arm before I could even take a step. I whipped my head around to look at her.

"I can take her down," I whispered with intention. "You know I can."

"She'll slit his throat before you even get to her," Echo grumbled, knowing what I was thinking was erratic. I thought about pulling one of my knives out and launching it at her, but the point of this wasn't to hurt Josephine, it was to get Clarke back alive.

All of our heads turned at the sound of a blaring emergency alarm that was coming from the middle of Sanctum. "Well that can't be good for you," Josephine pointed out. "Stand down now and this never happened."

I felt Echo release her grip on me as she spoke quietly to Bellamy and I, "we can't do this without Jackson."

She got a reply from neither of us because Murphy gave her one, "you don't need him. Find Gabriel. He was one of them, but then he bailed right before Ryker helped him escape."

Josephine breathed out a short laugh, "Gabriel left seventy years ago! He'd be a hundred and six by now, also known as dead."

"Yet he still gets you worked up," I vocalized the look I saw on her face. She didn't bless us with a snarky answer because the sound of motorcycles were starting to get closer.

"Set the EMP," Echo said to Emori, she decided that we're still going through with this. Emori scurried back to start up the machine.

"So much for forever," Josephine grumbled, then Murphy belted a cry. I looked over to see that she had sliced the skin on his thigh and shoved him over as she tried to run off. Emori ditched the EMP and ran over to Murphy, calling out his name as he grunted. I, on the other hand, took off after Josephine. She wasn't very fast, so I caught up to her quick. Once I was right behind her, I clipped her legs with my foot which sent her face down onto the dirt.

She rolled over fast and tried to launch her foot into my stomach, but a quick step back made that easily avoidable. I advanced quickly, landing my knee on one of her arm's while my hands reached out to hold her other one back. I think people doubted how strong I was because of how small I was, but I could handle my own. And others apparently, Josephine wasn't putting up a good enough fight against me. Bellamy was next to me now, he had pulled cuffs out of his back pack and started to bind Josephine's hands together.

"Echo!" Emori started directing her what to do while Bellamy and I restrained Josephine. "Just put it near the pylon, plug it in and press the button! Make sure Clarke is out of the way! You have ten seconds to get out before it reboots."

Echo began to follow Emori's directions while Bellamy and I were still working on getting Josephine restrained. She was thrashing around wildly, she just had to make everything so damn annoying.

"You two take Clarke. I'll stay and keep the others safe," Echo stated as she went to plug the EMP in. Bellamy and I had now succeeded with getting Josephine under control. "When the ship gets back, we'll find you."

"This is a really stupid plan, you know," Josephine directed that to me but I didn't look at her face because I knew she wanted me to. She switched to aim her words to Bellamy. "If you do this, the Children of Gabriel will kill us and my father will kill the rest of you. Is that what you want?"

"Shut the fuck up," I growled as my eyes stayed trained on Echo. I watched as she pressed a button and the shield flickered.

"It's down! Go!" Echo yelled to us. Bellamy yanked on the rope he had tied around the cuffs Josephine was in. She flopped her body onto the floor, trying to make this as hard as possible for Bellamy to get her on the other side.

"Grab her arms!" I panicked, we only had a few more seconds. He did what I said as I grabbed her ankles and we ran, making it to the other side just one second before the shield went back up.

I ignorantly dropped her feet and Bellamy adjusted his grip on her leashed cuffs. I turned around and look to our friends on the other side, "be safe."

"Save Clarke," Echo nodded before we parted ways.
