The stitch kit came with clean bandages, which helped with my problem greatly. When Bellamy stitched and wrapped my leg, I was finally able to calm myself down.
"Back to your place," Echo ordered when she saw he finished. "You too."
She directed that last part to me, Bellamy was about to object but I reached my hand out. I didn't want to stay laying down anyways.
Once we were all back to our knees, a voice came from in front of us.
"Don't shoot. I'm unarmed," I was shocked to see Monty there. He had his hands up to show he meant no harm. "I need to talk to whoever is in charge."
I watched with wide eyes as a grounder got a hold of him and dragged Monty towards us. He threw him harshly into the ground a couple of feet away from us.
Bellamy leaned forward to him and whispered, "is Octavia alive?"
Relaxation filled my entire body when I saw Monty give him a small nod, assuring that she was.
"Speak!" Echo came up next to us, grabbing all of our attention.
"One of our people has moved out of formation. I have reason to believe he's trying to kill your King," Monty explained.
"Why are you telling me this?" Echo spat back. I knew why he was telling her this.
"He's trying to stop a massacre," I shot to Echo.
"Who is it?" Kane questioned Monty.
"Riley," Monty revealed. I remembered Riley, he was part of the original one hundred. Bellamy had just gotten him back from Farm Station, Azgeda held him there as a prisoner.
"Riley? He shouldn't even be here," Bellamy's voice rose.
"That seems to be the consensus," Monty sighed out. Echo started ordering people to follow her as she grabbed her weapons.
"Wait! If our snipers see your archers marching, they'll open fire. Tell her!" Kane motioned to Monty.
"Those are our orders," Monty confirmed.
"I will not allow my King to be assassinated," Echo stated.
"Stop!" I spoke up with a plan. "Echo, take Bellamy with you and give Kane the radio to tell the snipers to let you pass."
"She's right, I know Riley. I can get him to stop. The snipers will listen to their chancellor," Bellamy backed me up right away.
"You think I'm a fool?" Echo directed her question to me, but Bellamy answered her.
"A dead fool if you step out of this kill box without me," he told her.
Echo actually agreed to it, she gave Kane the radio. "This is chancellor Kane," he said once he got it.
"Sir, are you okay?" A man's voice came through the radio.
"Listen to me. Bellamy's working with one of theirs to find Riley. You let them through, understood?" Kane detailed.
Echo snatched the walkie back when the man said, "copy that." Echo spoke in Trigedasleng and some grounders were now taking Bellamy out of the loosened chains while two grounders moved Monty to take his spot.
"If I'm not back before the sun goes past the trees, kill the hostages. Kill her first," she looked directly at me. She knew it would get in Bellamy's head and his face showed that it worked, but I didn't pay much attention to her threat.
"Bellamy, take Bear," I told him before they started walking off. He wanted Bear to stay with me, but Bear would get this done faster. "Bear will find him quick, you know that."
Bellamy gave a small nod and Echo waved to the man holding Bear to release him from the chain. Bellamy commanded Bear, "come." Bear got up from next to me and started to walk ahead of Bellamy and Echo. My mind was racing as I watched them walk further away from us, but I had to be patient. I knew that Bellamy and Bear would get this done.
It felt like it's been forever since they left, but it probably wasn't as long as I thought it was. All my focus was on them until there was the sound of an explosion. A cloud of smoke emerged in a familiar valley.
"Was that Arkadia?" I asked in horror.
"Yes," Kane answered with the same tone I had.
"Kota," Bellamy calling my name finally pulled my stare off of the scene. He was trying to lift me up in his arms.
"I can walk," I told him. It was going to be painful but I could do it.
"No you can't and we have to run, not walk," he was not taking any other options for this. I let him pick me up and he called for Bear to follow us.
By the time we got to Arkadia, the sun had gone down. I told Bellamy to put me down when we were close to the gates, I was fine enough. There were people screaming and running out of the Ark.
"Where's Octavia?" Bellamy panicked as we stared at the blazing fire ahead of us. Bear started barking and running towards it and Bellamy took off after him. As I got closer I saw why they ran, Octavia was coming out of the ship. "O? O!"
I heard Bellamy yelling as he got up to her, my damn leg just wouldn't let me keep up. He had her in his arms now, dropping down to the ground as she shrieked in pain. When I finally got to them, Octavia was sobbing while hugging Bellamy. She noticed that I was there and I reached my hand out to her. I was so relieved to see her alive. She took my hand right away, cradling it to her body.
Clarke came up beside me, we were all so distraught. Octavia looked to her while still holding onto Bellamy and I. She spoke through her gasping, "it was Ilian. I tried to stop him."
I jumped at another explosion happening and cried as several more happened after. Tears streamed down my face as I saw fiery debris fly towards our graveyard. The graveyard I tended to, the graveyard where my mother lie. My mom had a locket she always wore, it contained the last picture of my family. I've always wanted to get it, but I could never bring myself to see my mom's decaying body. I never got to say goodbye to her and this would be my last chance to.
"Stay," my voice shook as I spoke to Bear. I reluctantly let go of Octavia and started to turn around.
"Kota, don't," Bellamy knew where I was going. I've had a conversation about this with him once before. I knew he wouldn't let go of Octavia right now, that's why I knew I could actually go. I continued to walk towards the direction of the burial site. "Kota stop! Stop!"
Bellamy was yelling at me, but I couldn't get myself to listen to him. Unfortunately, something else did stop me. Roan put a tight grip around my bicep. I tried to rip it away, but it wasn't even worth trying. I shot my gaze back over to Bellamy, his expression showed me that he agreed with Roan not letting me go.
"I won't let you get killed by going over there," Roan's voice was low and serious. I stopped fighting against his grip and looked back to the flames.
I stopped crying while watching the rest of the Ark light up. We still had plan A, we still needed to try. I stumbled backwards when part of the Ark crashed down. There was extreme heat blowing into my face. The sight was devastating and seeing the field of flowers I planted now burning made me feel sick. I'm pretty sure Roan's grip was the only thing holding me up.
