"Kane, look," I got his attention. Kane didn't disappear like the others did and I was kind of grateful he didn't. He wasn't real, I knew that, but it made me feel less alone in this. I was kneeling in front of some hatch in the ground that seemed to be previously covered by leaves. Kane bent down next to me to examine it.

"Are you going to open it?" He asked me curiously.

"Might as well," I sighed in response. I reached my hand out to the handle on the mental door and lifted it easily. I dipped my head in, it was dark in there but the sun gave enough light for me to look around. There was nothing interesting though, just a small space with dirt walls.

"Nothing," I notified Kane of my findings and stood myself back up.

"So we keep going," Marcus encouraged.

I nodded to him before we started walking again. Our walking quickly halted though when I heard footsteps crunching the surrounding leaves. I could feel my heart thumping with my silence as I frantically looked through the woods. When a figure emerged, my breath hitched at the sight.

"Kota," Octavia's relieved voice sounded. I stood frozen as she slowly approached me, she grew timid and her face morphed into concern when I said nothing in return.

"I've been looking for you," she spoke up again. My tears started flooding and my hands began to tremble.

"No, not you please," my voice broke as I sobbed. "No, no, no..."

She was now standing right in front of me, Octavia looked so real it was painful.

"What's wrong?" She asked sincerely while witnessing my breakdown.

"We left you out here and now you're dead," I croaked out. I felt my stomach twist listening to my own words. "It's my fault."

Octavia took another small step closer to me, "I'm alive. I'm okay, nothing's your fault." I looked around to see if Kane was still standing near me, but he was gone.

"Hey, hey. Look at me," Octavia grabbed my attention back. My mind didn't know what to think, was this real? I've seen too much random shit to process anything else correctly.

"What are you looking for?" Octavia asked as my shaky hand wiped my eyes.

"Kane, he was here. He was helping me," I told her truthfully.

"Kane isn't here, Kota. Don't you remember?" Octavia's concern was growing.

"I know he's dead, but he was here. I could see him and talk to him, just like you," I panted, now realizing how uneven my breathing has gotten.

"I'm not dead," Octavia repeated calmly, but this time she reached out her hand to lightly grasp my own.

I stared at her hand holding mine, I could actually feel her skin. I looked back up her face with shock probably evident in my eyes. "I can feel your hand," I whispered.

"Because I'm here. I'm real," Octavia urged me to believe her. Even though I questioned it for a second, my mind believed it to be true. I dropped her hand and instead launched myself at her, engulfing her in a suffocating hug. The fact that she was actually here made me feel so much better.

When we pulled apart, I took in her features. Her hair was longer than I remembered and her face has matured in age a little bit, I'm sure nobody would have noticed the slight differences but this was me we're talking about. I noticed every time when something was different with her. The biggest thing I immediately saw though was her eyes, they were softer now. They didn't hold that constant rage like they did previously.

"You're different," I whispered. Octavia nodded to me with gratitude, like she was thankful I recognized it right away. "Have you seen Bellamy out here? We got split up, I've been trying to find him."
