The two of us walked all throughout the night, Bear would get impatient when I slowed down for a break. It's like he knew we were going to where the Ark crashed. I had to go to the drop ship first though, it was on the way to the Ark anyways.
I was now in recognizable forest, so it was getting easier to find my way back.
Bear was starting to cry and would circle me routinely as we got closer.
"We're almost there, there's no need for that," I assured the massive ball of hair. When we were in close proximity of the drop ship, I noticed that the land around it looked different. I continued through even though my worry was growing.
It only got worse, there was ash flying around everywhere. Nothing was green anymore and all the trees were torched. I felt nauseous seeing the hundreds of bones laying around.
"Bellamy?" I cried out with tears streaming from my eyes. What the hell happened? How long was I out for?
"Bellamy! Octavia!" I tried again. I was just met with eerie silence.
"In here!" I heard a woman scream from inside the drop ship. I took off towards it, Bear kept near my side. I taught him to only go ahead when I said so on our walk back to here.
I entered the drop ship to find Raven sitting against the wall. She looked pale and fragile and I soon saw why. She had been shot in the leg, her pants were drenched in blood.
"Kota?" I could tell she was not expecting to see me. "You're alive."
"Okay," I said to Bear, releasing him from my side. He immediately ran up next to Raven, sharing the same worry as me. I sat right beside him. "What the hell happened? I was only gone for like a day."
"No you weren't, you were gone for almost three," she revealed. I shook the shock of what she said off, she needed help and she needed it now.
"The grounders attacked, we launched the ship," I heard from behind me. I was startled since I didn't think anyone else was in here.
I wasn't really that surprised when I saw it was Murphy, "you just show up everywhere, don't you?"
He let out a huff that was probably supposed to be a chuckle. His leg was injured too.
"Of course you found a dog," Murphy said to me while staring at Bear.
Bear let out a low growl under Murphy's stare, "Careful, he doesn't like people named Murphy or John."
Now Raven was weakly laughing as she went to pet the top of Bear's head.
"I saw the Ark come down, I don't think they landed too far from here. I will bring you back help Raven," I assured her.
"Hey, what the hell happened to you?" Murphy questioned, but I kept my gaze on Raven.
"Bellamy lost his shit trying to find you," she told me. I tried not to cry thinking about it, he probably blamed himself for my disappearance and I should've listened to him.
"Is Bellamy okay? Do you know where he is?" I asked, hoping she would know.
"I don't know the answer to either," she gave me a sad look.
"I promise I'll be back as soon as I can," I lightly squeezed her hand before standing up again. "Bear, come."
We started on again, this time in more of a hurry. I didn't know if anyone came down with the Ark, but I had to try and find out for Raven's sake. I couldn't stop thinking about Bellamy and Octavia, all I could do was tell myself that they would be alright.
I could tell we were getting closer to where the Ark crashed. They looked to crash somewhere near the lake and the dirt was starting to get mushier. Then I froze when I heard a commotion from not too far beside me. I could tell Bear sensed it too, he followed me while I slowly made my way over to the noise. I got up to a little hill looking down to a path.
There he fucking was. I moved somewhere I could see better. I gave the hand motion that was supposed to mean stay to Bear as I traveled. Bellamy's face was beaten, blood streamed down from everywhere. My eyes moved to see Finn, their hands were bound by rope attached to the horse in front of them. The lone grounder was going to get back on his horse until there was yelling. I spotted two kids that were part of us running at him from the bushes. I didn't care what this situation could have possibly been, I just wanted to kill this man before he did it to them.
Without even thinking about it, a knife flew from my hand. It dug itself deep into the side of the grounder's skull, he dropped to the floor instantly. I just killed a man.
Bellamy, Finn and the two other kids shot their look over to the hill I was hiding behind. Next thing I knew, I was faced with an army of loaded guns pointed to the bush I was in. Bellamy's face told me he was confused about the guards. They were untying his wrists.
Once they were free, he immediately went to pull out the knife from the grounders limp head. He quickly stood up and faced where I was, "Kota?"
I was still in shock of killing someone and terrified that I may get gunned down and killed right now. I didn't know what to do, so I just stayed still.
For some reason, Bear jumped at the sound of Bellamy. He just ran towards him, totally giving up our hiding spot. This did knock me out of my haze though. I ran out of the bushes with my hands up.
"Don't shoot!" Bellamy ordered as he saw me, looking up from Bear's face who had taken a seat in front of him.
The guards rested their guns and I couldn't stop the tears from seeing him alive. I had just realized that these guards were from the Ark.
Bellamy had tears welled up in his eyes as he quickly made his way to me. He wrapped his large arms around my entire body. I hugged him back immediately. He had consumed me in the most fulfilling embrace.
He pulled back to look at my face, "I was scared you might be dead."
This made want to bust out all my emotions, but we had a pretty large audience. Bear was laying beside me and let out a groan as Marcus Kane approached.
"Dakota Solace," was all he said. He was examining me, it made me feel uneasy. I looked past him and saw Clarke's mom.
"Abby Griffin? You need to get to the drop ship, Raven is bleeding out," I was a little relieved to get the attention off of me.
"Let's move out," Kane instructed at the word of my news. I looked back to Bellamy, my heart began to ache looking at the lacerations on his face.
Everyone started to walk, so we stayed next to each other as we followed them.
"Are you okay?" I asked him, really concerned about his state.
"Don't worry about me, are you alright?" He questioned back to me.
He looked worse than me, I just had a few bruises and cuts and he couldn't even see the back of my head.
"I'm okay," I reassured him. He wouldn't take his eyes off of me and I didn't really want him too. I felt so much safer now that I was with him.
"You made a new friend," he motioned to the beast walking by my side.
"That's Bear," I introduced my dog.
"Cute," he replied. We both had a small smile but mine quickly faded.
"I have a lot to tell you," my voice turning soft.
"I do too. But right now... I'm just glad you came back to me," he told me.
Kane came up to us with his annoying voice saying my name. I did not trust this man, he works so closely with Jaha. I was pleased that this made me notice that Jaha was not here.
"Yes?" I replied, wondering what he wanted with me.
"You're mom is on Earth, she stayed back on the Ark but she's here," his voice became less annoying.
I thought I was going to faint. My mom was alive and here. Why didn't he say dad too? I don't know how I could've felt relief and grief at the same time, but I did.
