You sat there waiting for Alfie to come back and he did so, holding himself to his word. Turning your head where he left, he walked towards you and sat down on his chair once more. You looked down to see his hand a bit red as he put his hands on his knees, you did not ask what happened because you did not want to push boundaries - plus you were not sure whether you really wanted to know.

"Did I miss anything?" He asks as he sips his drink, looking to you as he swallowed.

"Just me" You innocently smile to him.

"That's a lot to miss" He winks and you raise an eyebrow in amusement.

"Is it?" You bite down on your lip; leaning your chin against your hand as it rested on the table.

"Yeah." He nods his head. "Your brother was telling me you're studying to be a secretary."

"Anything to get out of the East End." You sigh as he places his drink down.

"What's wrong with the East End?" He questions as he itches closer to you.

"I've got bigger dreams than pushing a pram or haggling with the butcher." You smile in amusement, making him chuckle too. "I just don't know what they are yet."

"The East End's not so bad." He raises an eyebrow and comes closer to your face "The
center of the world can be anywhere you like."

"Even here? In Bethnal Green?" You question in amusement. He nods his head, smiling as you as he looks you up and down; liking what he sees. You blush to him as you move your head to look to the singer.

"So do you like being a gangster?" You blurt out, not really thinking about what you said before your mouth blurted It out.

He stays quiet for a moment, before running his tongue over his lip as he looks at you.

"I am a club owner" He answers with a slight smile.

You waited for a more deeper explanation; becoming unsure whether you would get the answers.

"I like the money and the respect, of being a club owner." He honestly speaks as he stares at you and you smile at the euphemism.

"I could've been a boxer, but I might've ended up punchy, not knowing who I was, instead of knowing it for sure." He speaks and you chuckle to him. "Maybe, I like the fact that I've made a little something of myself. I don't owe the world a thing."

"So long as the world agrees with you." You say as a statement rather than a question. He looks to you with a smile on his face; falling for you in that second, even more than when he first saw you.

You lean into him and kisses his lips. His hand went on your cheek, pulling your face closer to him as you kissed. Your hands went on his knees as you kissed harder; not caring on who was looking.

Both slowly pulling away. He pecks your lips once more before admiring your beautiful face again.

"Dance with me?" He asks and you nod your head; him helping you stand up as you take his hand in yours.

The two of you walk to the dance floor, hand in hand. He stands still and pulls your body up against his; wrapping his arms around your waist as you put yours around the back of his neck and swaying side to side as you loved to the music.

"Do you do this to all the girls you bring here?" You ask him with a slight smirk on your face.

"Only the one" He winks and you blush a bright red; leaning your head against his chest.
