I tap my face, snapping myself out of it. I should take a shower anytime soon, he's done anyways. I wonder if Luke will finally come to school today. The steps thuds multiple times, Shawn comes to the kitchen with his grayish colored shirt and faded blue jeans.
"Good morning." He says with a smile.
"G–Good morning."
He sighs as he sits down, "Let's eat?"
"Yeah."
We eat, passing each other the dish we want, it was somehow quiet, until I decided to open a topic. I want clarification.
"Why did you catch me from falling?" I ask while cutting the beef.
"Hm? Catch you from falling? When?"
"Back when we're playing the Race–Over–Handkerchief game.."
His brows wrinkled and shook his head, "I didn't. You bumped against me and we both fell on the ground."
"YOU, fell on the ground, not me; because I was on top of you."
"Oh, right." He says with a laugh and ends there. He didn't even explained himself more.
But as far as I can remember, I didn't bump myself against anyone. I run with a free space when suddenly I tripped over someone's feet, I was about to fall on the ground when his body's wrapped to mine.
"But you weren't in front of me, Shawn. I was running and saw no one blocking my way."
"May, you bumped against me. I, too, was shocked to find myself on the ground."
I look my eyes down on the table and continued cutting random foods in my plate, "Oh." I utter.
After an hour of doing everything, we head to school. Same goes for the daily routine. Shawn and I went inside the class, where some of our classmates are missing. Some teachers didn't even come to teach. Vacant subjects. Shawn stood and heads out without a word. I stood and followed him without him knowing. Until he reached the school building's rooftop, he stands there and I watch him from his back. He suddenly lifts his left arm, then his right arm to his stomach. He doesn't know I was behind him all this time.
"I'm not trying or gonna start a fire with this flame." He yells.
My brows creased in curiosity, I thought he was going to pull out a lighter and burn the whole school and tell his dad that it's a complete trash, but he continues and makes my thoughts come in a wrong thought.
"But I'm worried that your heart might feel the same.. and I have to be honest with you.. love.
Tell me If I'm wrong.. and this is crazy, but I got you this rose.. this stupid rose.. and I am dying to know.. will you let it die or.. will you let it grow?" He yells to the wind.That. Was. Deep. I don't want to look like a stalker just like what he always calls me before, so I decided to show myself.
"That poem's good!" I said.
He looks at me from his back, "Yo–You heard all that?!"
"No, not all of it. Just the 'Will you let it die or will you let it grow."
"What are you even doing up here May? You're back to your Stalking-Shawn-Mendes?"
"Whoah, Shawn. I came up and heard you yelling. What can I do about it? Cover my ears and eyes? Or go downstairs and wait for you to finish? Or unsee and un-hear them?"
