"Mom?! Aunt Mary?!"

"Oh hey honey!" Mom said as she turn around.

"Oh my god. Look how much you've grown!" Aunt Mary says.

I went and hugged Aunt Mary first with a smile, then mom. Aunt Mary has a bandage wrapping her head and wearing a jacket. You know she's ill.

"Hey Shawn." Mom says.

"Hey Mrs. Archer." Shawn replies with a smile.

"Oh, Mary, this is Shawn, and Shawn, this is my sister, Mary."

"Nice to meet you ma'am." Shawn says as he reaches for a handshake.

"Are you my niece's boyfriend?" She asked.

Shawn and I looked at each other with a giggle. I quickly changed the topic and asked about her health and it went on until she forgot what Shawn is to me and why he's living with us.

"Why don't you two sit down? Foods are gonna be ready soon."

"Yeah. We will. We're actually famished." I joked.

Shawn and I is seated with other and mom is already giving me the look. I failed to tell her that we're okay and now actually a legit couple. After she cooked, she sat and we all enjoy the dinner.

"How come you came home without telling me mom? I mean, you always call or text me whenever you're gonna come back."

"I wanted it to be a surprise." She said with a voice that sounds like a lie.

"Oh, yeah.." I said, "I am indeed, especially you brought Aunt Mary whom I didn't see for so long." I smile.

"Aw sweetie. Me too! I'm so happy to see you May." Aunt Mary said.

After dinner, everything is in a fast haze and the time feels faster than it should be and my instinct tells me that something is not right. I helped mom wash the dishes while Shawn went upstairs to his room. Now is the right time to tell mom about me and him, about our relationship status.

"Hey mom."

"Yes sweetie?"

"About me and Shawn.."

"May?" Aunt Mary yells from the living room.

"Y–Yes Aunt Mary?"

"Mind coming here hon? I don't know how to turn this TV on."

"Oh, right. Be there in a sec." I looked at mom, "I'll tell you some other time." I rushed to the living room to turn the TV on, then went upstairs to my room.

All of a sudden, while I lay myself down on the bed, there's a knock on the door.

"In a minute!" I yell.
