"Ugh. Fine. Guess I'll have to wait. Is it dad?"

"Hm.. maybe..?"

"Oh right, when's dad coming home? It's been so many years.."

"I don't know sweetie. I really can't give you anything to expect."

"Just a hint."

"No. Here's the rule, you have to call me one day before you go home."

"Why?"

"So I'll tell you who it is."

"Who's the mystery person?"

"Exactly."

"This better be good mom."

"Don't worry, I'm pretty sure it will be."

"Okay, cool."

"Are you excited?"

"Of what?"

"The person who wants to meet me."

"Maaaybe?"

"Oh, 'kay. Fun. By the way, did you guys eat?"

"Already did sweetie."

"Good. How's Aunt Mary?"

"She's doing fine. She's even insisting me to take her back to her house and live her life alone but I simply can't. I'm scared she might collapse again.. and.. you know? The possibilities."

"You just have to trust her mom."

"I trust her but.. I can't risk it."

I sigh, "You're right. I have a question.."

"What?"

"This person you're talking about.. did we met?"

"Hm.."

"So we did.."

"Why do you sound sad? We should be excited because we haven't seen—"

"I'm actually excited. Excited to see dad." I said, trying to get her to spill the mystery person.

"Yeah, me too!" Mom said, "Oh my—"

"AHA! Got you!"

"May! That was cheating!"

"At least I know it was dad. I guess I won't be taking six weeks or two months after all."

Mom giggles, not knowing why. My heart beats fast and I'm pretty sure that what I guessed is correct.

"That's good to hear then." Mom says.

"You're not mad?"

"Why would I be mad? I mean, oh yeah, I'm mad."

"Are you hiding something..?"

"Hide what? What am I still going to hide if you have already guessed it?"

"So it is Dad!"

"Yeah, sure it is. OH!"

"What happened? Hello? Mom? Is everything okay?"

"Y—Yeah, just a cat scratching the window."

"A cat?!"
