"Mommy loves you sweet angel's, but you have to stay with Ms. Jazzy today. You love Ms. Jazzy, you'll have so much fun with her while mommy and daddy are at work."
"Jessica, can we just get going? We're going to work, not leaving the country!"
"Would you just wait, Danny! Jesus Christ!" Jessica raises her voice at him.
"Hey watch your tone with me!"
Jessica wanted to tell him off, but didn't want the kids to see them fight.
"Mommy, stay!" Jessica's four year old son Jackson pulls on her shirt.
Jessica turns around and says, "Oh baby I wish I could! I promise you and your big sister that this will be it for a few years, and mommy will have all the time in the world to spend with you two!"
"You always say that." Jessica's seven year old daughter Sofia says.
"Oh I know baby, but I mean it this time! I promise!" Jessica cups her face.
"Jessica. Let's go!" Danny raises his voice.
Jessica looks at him holding the door open then looks back at the kids and says, "You be good for Ms. Jasmine."
"We will, mom." Sofia smiles.
Jessica smiles and touches her cheek, "You be sure and do your school work too, okay?"
"I will."
"Good. I love you." She gives each one a kiss on the cheek as Danny scoffs and rolls his eyes.
As she and Danny drive, he doesn't say a word.
"Why are you mad?" Jessica asks.
"I'm not mad."
"Danny.."
"What?"
"Do you still love me?"
"You know I do."
"Why don't you ever tell me? You don't show me that you love me."
"Jessica we've been married for ten years, don't you think we're past that stage?"
"To show love? No!"
Danny sighs and Jessica just looks at him with watery eyes.
When Jessica got there she went into her and Sarah's trailer.
"I swear that man!" Jessica throws her bags down.
"What man?"
"My husband! He couldn't say one nice thing about me if he was begged to! Ugh! We've been married for ten years, but he treats me like he doesn't even care!" She paces back and forth.
"Oh Jessica, I'm sorry!"
"It's fine.. Every marriage goes through rough spots I guess.. Right?" She sits down.
"Yeah, of course! Jess.."
"Hm?" She looks up at Sarah who is standing beside the couch that Jessica is sitting on.
"Does he hurt you?"
"No! I wouldn't have stayed with him if he did!"
"Oh! Well good!"
"I don't know.. Maybe it's because we got married SO young! I mean, I was nineteen! I was just a baby! We should have waited, I know that. But we were in love. I wasn't pregnant, so we didn't have to rush into anything, but we just loved each other..." Her voice trails off and her eyes become watery.
Sarah sits beside her and wraps her arm around her shoulder.
"Jessica, you're one of my best friends and I hate seeing you upset. Maybe you and Danny need to go to therapy."
"I don't know, maybe. I still love him Sarah, I do.. I'm just not sure if he loves me."
