While watching cartoons in her parents bedroom Sofia heard noises coming from downstairs.
She threw off the blanket and ran as fast as she could to her mother.
"What's going on? Are you fighting?" She asks hugging Jessica tightly.
"No, we were just talking loudly. Breakfast is ready, Sof." Danny says sitting her plate down on the table.
Sofia looked to her dad then turned and looked up at Jessica.
"Are you gonna eat?"
"Yeah, I'm just gonna go get the kids."
"I'll wait for you."
"Soft honey, it's okay. Just go sit with your father."
"Okay.." Sofia laid on Jessica and held her for a little while longer.
Sofia loved both of her parents but she has always been a momma's girl. She knew something was going on between her parents, and after knowing what Danny has done in the past she feared the worst.
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"Honey, I'm fine. I promise. You just go have some breakfast, sweet girl."
"Okay." Sofia goes up on her tip toes and Jessica bends down so Sofia can kiss her.
While Jessica went to get the other kids Sofia went into the kitchen with her father.
"Morning princess!"
"Good morning.."
"Did you sleep well?"
Sofia looks down and nods. "I slept with mommy."
"Oh! Fun.."
"Not really. She was so sad... Did you hurt her?"
Danny sighs, "I didn't mean to.."
"Daddy, what did you do?!" Sofia spoke with disappointment.
"It's okay, Sof. Grown ups do this sometimes. It'll be okay."
"Are you leaving again?"
"No honey, I won't leave again.. Listen.." Danny sighs and scoots his chair closer to Sofia's.
He held her hand and looked deep into her eyes.
"Sometimes mommy's and daddy's need time apart. Not a lot, but even one night can help. It doesn't mean we don't love each other or that we're getting a divorce. It just means that.. I got on your mommy's nerves." He says smiling softly.
Sofia giggles.
Danny smiles and messes with her hair.
"Eat your breakfast, kiddo."

Meanwhile upstairs Jessica had the hard part.
"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!"
"Joseph! Joseph! Joseph!" Jessica smiles with excitement mimicking his face.
"Mama I got poop." Joshua looks at her with a miserable expression.
"You always have poop, Joshy."
"Change me!" He lowers his brows.
"What's the magic word?"
