Two weeks have past, Danny comes to the house for dinner, but sneaks out after the kids go to bed.
He and Jessica haven't talked much at all, and as much as Jessica hated being in that house, she was way too busy to find another place.
*Danny, we need to tell the kids.* She texts him.
*What are we gonna tell them?*
*That we've been doing a lot of thinking, and that we have decided that it would be a lot better on everyone if we didn't live together. We'll have to make it sound fun to them and tell them how they'll have two of everything... You know.. Things like that*
*Alright, when do you wanna do it?*
*Can you come over now?*
*Yeah.. I'll be there in 15 minutes.*

"Sophia, Jackson! Come here, please." Jessica calls them.
"Yes mommy?"
"Where's your brother?"
"He went outside to play."
"What?!"
"Yeah, he's outside!"
"Sofia why didn't you tell me? You know that he's not supposed to go outside by himself!"
"I'm sorry!"
He wasn't in the back yard, so she and Sofia went looking around the neighborhood.
"Jackson! Jackson!" She screams but gets no answer.
"Sofia, why did you let him leave?!" She yells.
"I'm sorry, mommy!" She says looking up to her with sad eyes.
"I'm sorry sweetie, it's not your fault." She puts her arm around her and brings her close to her body.
"Jackson, where are you! It's mommy, baby boy! Come to mommy!"
"Ma'am!" She years someone from behind.
Jessica turns around and gasps when she sees her baby boy bloody, and in a strangers arms.
"Oh my god, my baby!" She grabs him.
"Careful! The ambulance is coming, he was hit but he's still alive. He got beat up pretty bad though, so talk to him and make sure he doesn't fall asleep."
"Oh Jackson, my sweet boy! Look at mommy! Please talk to me, baby!" She sits on the side walk and runs her hand on his bloody cheek.
Danny gets to the house and knows something was wrong when he saw that the door was opened and the house was empty.
He drove around and called Jessica, but she didn't hear her phone.
He saw the ambulance and his heart dropped.
He followed it hoping and praying it wouldn't lead to his family, but his heart started pounding harder when he saw Jessica there with their bloody son in her arms.
Danny jumped out of the car and ran as fast as he could.
"JACKSON!" He screamed.
Jessica turned to him and tears were pouring down her face.
They put him on a stretcher and Danny asked Jessica, "What happened?!"
"He was hit! Oh Danny I should've been watching him! How could I let this happen?!" She cries into his chest with her hands by her face.
Danny hugs her and says, "He's gonna be fine. The hospital isn't far, and the paramedics will take care of him.
Jessica looked at him and nodded before she looked at the paramedic and said, "I'm his mother, I'm going with him!"
"Yes ma'am, go ahead." He steps aside to let her in.
"I'll take Sofia to my mom's and I'll meet you there."
"Okay."
On the car ride over Sofia bawled to Danny.
"Daddy! It was my fault!"
"How was it your fault, Sof?"
"Mommy was in her room and Jackson snuck out the back. I didn't think he would go into the street, so I didn't say anything and now he's gonna die!" She cries harder.
"Sofia, he's not gonna die! He's in good hands and he's gonna be just fine, okay? It was not your fault, so don't you ever think that again!"
"..Okay.."
Jessica's POV.
Jessica watched as they stuck needles into her baby boy and put masks on his face.
Her eyes were wide, her breathing was heavy, and her head was spinning.
"Is.. Is he gonna be alright? Is my baby gonna be alright?"
"Yes ma'am, but he's badly injured. He seems to have several broken bones, but we'll see more in the X-Ray at the hospital.
Jessica didn't take her eyes off of him. She suddenly saw his little eyes begin to open.
"He's opening his eyes! Can I talk to him?"
"Yes, that would be good for him, go ahead."
"Jackson baby.. It's momma! You're such a strong strong boy!"
"It... hurts..." He struggles to say.
"I know, baby, but the doctors are gonna make you all better, okay? It's all gonna be okay.."
Jackson looks at her and a single tear falls down his cheek.
Jessica wipes it with her finger and kisses his head.
"You're gonna be okay, baby. We're almost there!"

Jackson was in with the doctor and Jessica and Danny had to stay out in the hall.
"Danny this is my fault, this is all my fault. I should have made sure that door was closed right.. I should have-"
"Jessica, stop blaming yourself! It wasn't your fault, so stop!" He grabs her and looks into her eyes.
Jessica looks at him and doesn't say a word.
"... Thank you, Danny." She looks down.
"Sure.." He pulls her onto him and hugs her.
At this point Jessica didn't care about everything he had done and what they planned to discuss, she just needed someone to hug and to cry with.
"Just stay calm.. I know it's hard, but you need to for the baby."
"Oh that's right.. I'm pregnant!" She chuckles.
Danny laughs and says, "Yeah.."
Jessica looks up at him, then let's go of him and crosses her arms as she walks slowly.
"I need to walk.. Maybe it'll calm me down.." Her voice trails off as she walks away from him.

Jackson broke his collarbone, fractured his wrist, cracked a few ribs and only bruised and scratched up his legs.
He needed stitches on his lips and forehead, but over all he was okay.
When Jessica and Danny were finally able to go back and see him, Jessica hurried over to his side and kissed his head.
"Hi baby.."
"Mommy.." He says in a sad voice.
"How do you feel?"
"It hurts!"
"I know baby, they're gonna give you some medicine that's gonna make you feel all better, and guess what?! Tomorrow you can go home! Isn't that exciting?!"
"Hold me, mommy!" He cries.
Jessica climbed into bed with him and held him close.
Danny thought back to when he yelled at her for babying Jackson, and just thinking about it, made him hate himself.
"Danny."
"Yes?"
"Can you call Sofia and tell her that he's okay, please?"
"Sure. I better let my mom know too. I told her there was an accident, but that's all I said. She's probably worried sick."
"Sofia probably filled her in." She chuckles.
"Hah! Yeah.. Wifi isn't great, but I'm sure she's been blowing up my phone! Anyway... I'll be back..." Danny slowly walks away as he stairs at Jessica and Jackson.
She was so loving with him and made him feel so comfortable, that Jackson was able to finally get some rest and fall asleep.
"You're a good mom, Jessica."
Jessica turned her head to him as he stood in the doorway and said, "Thanks.."
