Death Eater's Daughter

One Hundred Eleven

"Did you find a dress?" Fred asked when I entered the common room
I used my wand to levitate all the gifts and dress inside

"I did" I said awkwardly

Fred walked up from his seat and tried to open the curtain around my dress
I pulled it out of the way and glared at him
"It's for the day of the ball, only my date can see it before hand"

"Your date?" He said raising his eyebrows

"Mhm"

"Who's that?"

"No one has asked me yet, so no one"

"Dont be that way, we're together of course we're going to it"

I looked around the room and saw that Harry was the only one in the room
He awkwardly looked at us and then back to the fireplace

"You haven't asked me how am I supposed to know?"

"Really?" He asked playfully
He got down to my level and looked me in my eyes
"Will you go with me to the ball?"

"No" I snapped back

"That's unfortunate"

"Why didn't you ask me before now? I had to practically demand it"

"Because I'm a boy and I'm dumb"

"True" I said playfully "fine I'll go with you"

He smiled and kissed my lips
"Now let me see the dress"

"That day of you can" I said walking away and going to place my items in my room

The day of the ball has arrived
We spent the first half of the morning unwrapping gifts and spending time with loved ones
I spent half my morning with Fred and the other half with Draco
I participated in a snowball fight with my friend group and then left to see Draco for hot chocolate
He lectured me about staying in the cold for too long but I enjoyed every moment I spent today

Hermione found me in the Great Hall before it was cleaned out and redecorated for tonight
Together we got ready for the ball
Fred was wearing a black tie with red accents
Draco wore the same but with green, I helped him pick out his outfit the day I got mine

For makeup I wore gold glitter, a bold liner and a red lip to match with Fred
I haven't seen him since the snow fight, I assume he's getting ready by now
We have only 10 minutes before the ball

  "Ready?" Hermione asked

  "Ready" I said adding a few pieces of jewelry  to my outfit before I left
Draco had gotten me a beautiful bracelet, Fred had gifted me a gorgeous necklace that I added to my outfit as well

We walked down our dorms and out of the common room together
I didn't see Fred in the room, or outside in the halls
Viktor was here for Hermione though

  "Hello" he said to me smiling

  "Hello" I smiled back

  "Your date?" He asked

  "Somewhere around here" I said looking around

  "Would you like to walk with us? He knows where you'll be" Viktor said
Hermione nodded her head in agreement

I reluctantly walked with them, hoping that Fred would show up soon
As champions we were to be the first on the dance floor and we are supposed to represent the school
I wasn't sure what I was going to do if Fred didn't show up on time

When we entered the Great Hall it had turned into an incredible dance hall
Christmas decorations hung in every corner and a stage was in the back where Dumbledore usually stood
I felt so happy looking around the room
Hermione took Viktor's hand and walked down the stairs
  "I'll see you down there?" She asked

  "Yes, I'm going to wait at the top for a little" I said nervously

I looked around again, trying to find Fred but he was nowhere to be found
I did see Draco and his date Chloe though, they both looked wonderful
Harry walked up next to me
  "No Fred?"

  "Not yet"

  "He doesn't have much time now" Harry said looking at the clock on the wall

  "I know" I said annoyed

  "Well, I'll see you down there?" He asked me

I nodded my head and watched him walk down with his date too

  "Your date?" Professor McGonagall asked me

I turned around and saw her waiting for my response
  "He's supposed to be here"

  "It's about to start...you should start walking down "

  "Yeah..."
I waited a few minutes before walking down the stairs
I saw eyes on me, from all the guys that Draco told me wanted to ask me
Especially Blaise, he couldn't take his eyes off of me

I walked over to Harry Fleur and Viktor who were all with their dates
But still no Fred

I didn't even see George or Lee

We were al ushered to a door that lead to the Great Hall
We were awaiting Dumbledore to announce our arrival

A few minutes went by and then Dumbledore's voice came through the crowd "welcome all, I open up the Yule Ball with our champions and their dates"

Viktor walked with Hermione first

Fleur walked with her date second

Harry looked at me with guilt and walked with his date next

I took a deep breath and looked around again
No Fred

I took another deep breath and began walking down the isle following them
I can't believe Fred isn't here

I kept walking slowly
I saw Viktor open the door leading to the Great Hall
I heard awhs from the crowd as they walked through the doors
Fleur confidentially went next
Harry tripped over his date's dress on the way but still made it through the door

Next was me
Alone

I walked through the doors and looked around
I didn't see Fred still so I continued walking down the hall
I heard a few whispers but I did my best to ignore them
Until I felt a hand go around mine and a body stand beside me

I looked over to my right and saw Draco standing beside me
Keeping me company so I didn't have to go on the dance floor alone
