'Tom's phone starts ringing'
Tom: It's my dad, I'll be right back
You: Okay, take your time
'Tom talks to his dad and you continue to watch the TV'
Tom: Hey, did anything good happen?
You: Nope. Is everything okay with your dad?
Tom: Yeah. I also got the full scoop
You: On-court?
Tom: Yes. Today is the hearing, so you don't need to be there. But they are going to ask you to testify against them if it goes that far
You: Why?
Tom: The only way we can keep them fully away from you is by doing that
You: You all expect me to put my family in jail?
Tom: No. If you testify against them there is a possibility they'll go back to jail, but you would be telling your part to legally keep them away from you
You: Oh, I can do that. I'm not afraid of them anymore
