Chapter 87

Lisa was discharged from the hospital 3 days later.

When he left the hospital, he absorbed back Ephialtes' powers that were enshrouding the 3 kidnappers and thus ended their endless cycle of nightmares that lasted 3 whole days. Though, with Lisa's current abilities, he could easily let these kidnappers be immersed in nightmares for at least a month. However, after giving it some thought, he decided to absorb back Ephialtes' powers. If they ended up in a coma for an extended period of time and the doctors were unable to identify the cause, it would definitely raise Mina's suspicions. In order to prevent any more further hassle, he thought it would be best to end their nightmares.

After absorbing back his powers, the 3 kidnappers seemingly regained consciousness at the same time. The moment they woke up, all 3 of them started screaming out tragically, giving the police officers and the medical team a huge scare. When the police officers and the medical team rushed into the ward, the 3 kidnappers started convulsing violently, as if they were possessed. It was impossible to stop them. The 3 of them were constantly screaming, "Don't dig out my heart! Don't dig out my heart!"

Left with no other choice, the doctors could only use a tranquilizer on each of them so that they would calm down.

Another 3 days had passed since. By then, Mina had finished interrogating the 3 kidnappers and understood the happenings in the entire case. He went over to Lisa's studio the moment he had finished the investigation so as to explain to Lisa about the case details.

"These 3 kidnappers have some relations to the organ trafficking ring involved in the Headmaster Hong's case. It's because of this that they started to take notice of you." Mina explained.

Lisa knew about this from the beginning so he was not surprised when he heard Mina's words.

"As their organ trafficking channel was seized by the police, they were unable to receive the heart that was previously promised to a customer. However, since they had already accepted a huge deposit from the customer, out of desperation, they decided to take a risk with the plan of causing the deaths of organ donors in order to obtain a heart." Mina continued. "We also have a lead to the customer that wanted to purchase the heart and we are following up closely with it. Currently, the investigation is already nearing the end."

"How did they get the list of organ donors?" Lisa questioned.

"They bought it on the dark web." Mina answered. "According to their statements, they got to know an information broker on the dark web. You can buy all sorts of information from him as long as payment is made. This matter is a major focus for us police currently and we have launched an investigation on this. The act of stealing the list of organ donors and selling it to organ trafficking syndicates is a huge slap to the kindness of the citizens. This act from one single person could literally destroy the entire established organ donor system. This is even more serious than trafficking organs."

Mina's expression was stern and his gaze was icy cold. He looked as if he wanted to immediately arrest the information broker right at this moment.

Lisa remained silent and did not express any opinion. This kind of matters that revolved around protection of public order was not something he should be concerned about.

"Oh right, do you know why they suddenly wanted to kidnap you?" Mina seemingly recalled something that made him speechless before. His expression was a mix of exasperation and amusement.

There was a slight change in Lisa's expression upon hearing the inspector's words. This was an area that he was particularly curious about.

"Do you want to take a guess?" It was rare for Mina to witness Lisa being interested in a particular matter and thus could not help but keep him in suspense.
