Chapter 61

"Sigh...."

Seulgi and Jisoo held a stick of ice cream each and squatted outside the studio entrance. Despite the burning sun rays radiating down on their bodies, their hearts felt icy cold.

"This isn't fair. You were the one who was too poor and made lady boss so mad to the point of tears. Why was my bonus deducted too?" Jisoo reasoned that the monthly bonus deduction was due to his action of bringing boss' younger brother upstairs without boss' permission. However, why was his quarterly bonus deducted too? He felt extremely aggrieved.

"If I knew this would happen, I would have informed lady boss beforehand." Seulgi was feeling regretful now. "However, lady boss also didn't check with me about the total value of my life assets. If she had asked, I definitely would have told her."

"I'm also regretting my actions. I should not have blabbed to you about lady boss' service fees. No, I should not have persuaded you to look for lady boss. I should have just gotten you to spend 1,000,000 yuan to look for my master. I could have even received some commission out of it and my bonus would not have been deducted." Jisoo was feeling extremely regretful.

"I could split half of my monthly bonus with you?" Seulgi knew that Jisoo was implicated by him and thus was feeling slightly guilty.

"How much is the monthly bonus worth? It's not comparable to the quarterly bonus of 30,000 yuan." Jisoo became more enraged as he thought about it. He did not even want to stay in the vicinity of Seulgi. It was timely that he was finishing his ice cream. He swallowed the remaining portion in one bite, got up and headed back into the studio.

Seulgi still had half of his ice cream left and remained squatting by the wall to eat it slowly.

At this moment, a palm-sized doll suddenly crawled out of the pocket of Seulgi's shirt. It was doll Chen Huanling.

"Brother." Chen Huanling called out.

"Eh, you're awake?" Seulgi saw that his sister had woken up and quickly took the doll that she was possessing out of his pocket and carried it on his palms.

Chen Huanling was recuperating her soul all this while. She spent most of her time in a deep sleep and would only occasionally wake up once a day. However, she would usually not stay awake for long.

"Aren't you down with a cold? Why are you still eating ice cream?" Chen Huanling chided when she saw the ice cream in Seulgi's hand.

"Ahem, well, I'm not really down with a cold so it doesn't matter if I'm eating ice cream." Despite his words, Seulgi felt warmth deep within his heart when he felt the care and concern of a family member. It even somewhat lightened the stifled feelings he had after knowing his bonus was deducted.

"I heard you earlier saying that your bonus was deducted?" Chen Huanling asked.

"Yea. I originally had 30,000 yuan as bonus."

"What happened?"

Seulgi started to recount what had happened to his younger sister. He then added on, "I originally did not want to reveal the truth and compensate the remaining amount to lady boss after you have awakened. However, lady boss mentioned that she has her rules to follow and would not be able to accept more money than what was agreed upon at that point of time. I'm at a loss now."

Chen Huanling muttered to herself for a second after listening to Seulgi's story. She then replied, "Big brother, I don't think that you are fully responsible for the entire situation. If you have to pinpoint a particular fault, it would be that you should have informed your lady boss beforehand that your total life assets only amounted to 5,000 yuan."
