Chapter 109

As Christmas approached, the shopping malls and the university were brimming with the mood of festivities and celebration. However, as Christmas was ultimately not a legally recognized national holiday in the country, all the activities held in the school were centred around the oncoming New Year-the New Year's Night Party was already in the midst of preparation.

Since Jennie had previously completed a piano performance during the university's Welcoming Night, she had long ago been invited to perform at the party by the university's culture club. However, she did not agree to it as her dorm had planned a group activity on that day-Irene was finally going to bring her dearest husband, whom she had kept hidden from the rest of the girls in the dorm for an entire semester, to meet with them.

"It's been an entire semester. We are finally qualified to be introduced to your dearest husband." Joy remarked, feeling excited and touched at the same time.

"I've already said that my dearest husband is very shy." Irene answered with a half-truth.

Naturally, her dearest husband was shy. But the reason why he refused to come to the university was not because of shyness, but because of Ephialtes' powers within his body. She did not notice this in the beginning, and merely thought of it as Lisa's dislike in meeting strangers. It was only until a casual chat with the girls came up one day, where Joy nonchalantly mentioned that she and Rosé had secretly sneaked a look at Lisa on the first day of the school's opening and got a fright just from his gaze, did Irene finally realize the true reason.

Lisa had Ephialtes' buff on his body-she knew about this but had always put this knowledge at the back of her mind since this buff was useless on herself. Her dearest husband might look gloomy and horrifying to others whereby one look at him would make one's heart quiver. However, in Irene's eyes, he was such a perfect black pearl. Her heart hurt for him when she finally realized what he had experienced. As such, she secretly returned home to comfort Lisa for an entire night at the risk of having her points deducted should she be caught during a dorm check.

Lisa was bewildered by her sudden passionate advances and asked her what had happened. She did not want to reveal that she felt sorry for him and used the excuse that Joy, her dorm mate, had a new boyfriend. The boyfriend then treated all the girls in the dorm to a meal last Wednesday. After hearing her recounting, Lisa remained silent for a moment. After which, he suddenly suggested meeting up with her dorm mates on his own accord.

Irene knew that Lisa might have misunderstood her. However, she did not reject his idea upon recalling that currently his Ephialtes' buff would vanish as long as he was in a good mood. When she returned to campus, she informed her dorm mates about Lisa's initiative for a meetup. The rest of the girls were all shocked for an instant before immediately starting a discussion on the appropriate date and time. After much fervent discussion, they finally settled on new year's eve.

"Nowadays, there aren't many men existing in this world who are shy. We must observe closely how shy he is that day." Rosé could not resist snickering.

"Yea, that's right." Jennie echoed after.

"Don't you all dare to bully my dearest husband. Or else, I'll not invite you girls as my bridesmaids for my wedding." In a girls' dormitory, discussions related to love relationships would definitely pop up here and there naturally. Needless to say Irene, who was the first girl amongst the rest in her dorm to have a boyfriend, was bombarded with questions about her wedding plans. Irene did not feel embarrassed by the questions either. When the 3 girls interrogated her, she frankly answered that she would get married upon reaching the legal age for marriage.

Irene was 18 years old this year. She would only be in her second year in university when she reached 20 years old-that day would arrive very soon.

"She's mad now. Irene's mad at us now." The other 3 girls started to tease her. At the same time, they started to get even more excited to meet the legendary shy husband of the Wu family that did not dare to meet strangers.
