Assistance?
Even though Irene did not sense any animosity from the young boy in front of her, his identity as a member of MA was sufficient for her to harbour a natural dislike towards him. Furthermore, ever since she arrived in Hai City, she had suffered several injustices. The current Irene, who had already experienced being trounced by society now, was no longer the same Irene in the past. She would constantly remember the techniques to discern others' intentions that were taught to her by her dearest husband.
"My dearest husband, how do I tell whether someone is good or bad?" This was a question Irene asked Lisa after she was framed by Headmaster Hong and released from the detention centre.
"I don't know." Lisa replied.
"How does my dearest husband discern others in that case?" She felt that Lisa was someone who was rarely duped by others.
"There are no good humans in my eyes." He replied coolly.
Her dearest husband was indeed intelligent. If she were to treat everyone as a bad person and always be on guard, she would naturally not fall into other people' traps again. She felt that she had learnt a great lesson.
"No." Irene stared at this Sang Wenhao kid in front of her with caution and rejected the boy's request without hesitation.
"Why!" Sang Wenhao started panicking. The thick lens of his spectacles could not hide the anxiety in his eyes.
"Why should I help you just because you ask?" She walked past him, wanting to leave the area.
He hurriedly caught up to her. "I will not ask you to help for free. I can pay you!"
"My answer is still no." She did not hesitate to reject him again.
"Why? You can raise any kind of conditions as you wish. I would definitely fulfill them." He voiced out in a fluster.
"You need to offer 10% of your entire life assets to ask for my assistance. Since you are currently still studying in elementary school. I'm not interested in just gaining 10% of your pocket money." If it were other people asking for her help, she might have offered her assistance if her mood was good. However, if it was someone from MA requesting her, even if they offered to pay her an exorbitant price, she might not even be willing to take on the deal.
"Name a price. I will get it from my father." Sang Wenhao declared.
"No. My policy is for the requester to offer 10% of their life assets." Irene would only accept payment by a proportion of one's assets, and not with fixed amounts.
"Then... when I earn money in the future, I will give you 10% of my salary every year. Would that be okay?" Sang Wenhao was sharp-witted and quickly thought of an idea, "My aptitude is pretty good. In about 2 years, I will be able to accept missions and head out to earn money. Earning 100,000 yuan a month would not be an issue for me. When I'm older, I can even succeed my father's position to become the chairman of Li City's Metaphysical Association."
"In that case, don't I have to collect payment from you every year?"
"You don't need to come and find me to collect payment, I will definitely pass it to you timely with my own initiative." He promised.
"Of course you would say such nice words now. However, perhaps after I finished assisting you in whatever matter you needed, you could always choose to refute the payment at that time. Obviously, I could still hound you for the payment then, but why should I put myself through such trouble?" Irene always preferred doing a lump sum settlement. She would not undertake deals that require a long repayment period. For such long repayment periods, the one who owed money usually had the biggest say. She did not want to waste effort to pester people for payment.
