Lisa could avoid meeting his parents' eyes, however, he could not stop their voices from invading his mind. He became slightly frustrated and no longer wanted to remain any longer.

"Come here." Lisa called out to the upset Ji An, who hid in their mother's embrace while crying.

The young Ji An was startled. The Ji parents also started guessing in their minds what Lisa wanted to do. However, they did not stop him in the end.

Ji An was filled with apprehension and anticipation at the same time as he approached Lisa. He wondered to himself if his big brother had forgiven him since he already apologized. After all, his big brother personally made a trip to the hospital to visit him upon hearing that he was sick.

Lisa overheard the thoughts in the little brat's mind but did not reveal any indication outwardly. He waited for Ji An to walk closer before saying, "I have a way to make your nightmares disappear."

The child's eyes lit up. Even though he had comforted his parents saying that he was alright with the nightmares, he was still afraid deep down. Just when he was about to express his delight, he heard Lisa continue his words, "But I don't want to help you."

"Lisa!" Both Mr. and Mrs. Ji called out at the same time.

Lisa lifted his eyes and looked at them. The initially disgruntled parents who had been unhappy with Lisa's statement, immediately became speechless upon meeting his eyes. A flash of panic even flashed past their eyes.

"Wha-...what's with his eyes? Why does he look gloomier than usual?"

Lisa continued to pretend that he could not hear their thoughts. He lowered his head to look at the crestfallen expression on the little child before continuing coolly, "You should continue to experience another 2 days of nightmares and deeply ingrain those feelings in your mind. Don't ever appear in front of me again if you do not wish for them to return. Do you hear me?"

The little Ji An had a face filled with terror as he retreated panickedly. He did not want to have a big brother anymore. This was not the big brother that he had envisioned.

This was how things should be played out. When Lisa heard the little kid's thoughts, he smiled in mockery. What the kid envied was other people's big brother, and he was not like them.

"I'm leaving." Lisa straightened up, looked at them and gave them a scornful smile before turning around to leave. Just as he was about to shut the door, he suddenly said, "In the future... contact me less."

As he finished his words, the ward door was shut. Lisa's footsteps could be heard going further and further away.

The hospital at night was silent, each step Lisa took clearly rang out as his shoes hit the floor. The sound of each footstep felt as though it was literally impacting Mrs. Ji's body instead. She suddenly passed her youngest son to her husband, opened the ward door and chased after Lisa.

"Lisa!" Mrs. Ji shouted out loudly in the hospital corridor. Her anxious appearance was a stark contrast to the usual elegant composure she had.

Lisa stopped in his tracks but did not turn around.

"I know that you said those words intentionally."

Mrs. Ji's voice could be heard behind his back. This time round, Lisa did not hear a different voice from deep within her heart.

"You purposely said those words to reduce our interactions with you. After so many years, we had also intentionally kept a distance from you. Your father and I thought that this was perhaps the best way for you, and also for us. But Lisa, please trust that we truly care about you. It's just that...." Mrs. Ji paused for a long while but did not manage to finish her sentence. However, Lisa could hear the remaining words from her heart.
