When Irene removed the contract formation, the Ghost King's soul had already begun to dissipate. No matter how powerful he had once been, in death, he was no different from any ordinary soul.
The Ghost King did not fear death; his only regret was not being able to see his daughter's reincarnation with his own eyes.
"A soul nurtured by a witch will be the purest in the world. In her next life, she should have a good life," he said lovingly, looking at Winter in Irene's hands that contained his daughter's remnant soul.
"I can't guarantee that," Irene replied.
"It doesn't matter, as long as she can live," the Ghost King smiled bitterly, knowing that this was merely his hope.
Suddenly, a warm breeze blew through, surprising everyone.
Looking up, they realized that the falling snow had stopped at some point. The thick clouds parted, revealing a clear crescent moon. Even though the winter weather was not warm, the wind now felt less biting compared to the ghostly chill that had permeated the air earlier.
A series of notification sounds rang out in the vast mountains. Irene glanced at her phone. In the studio's group chat, Yeri and others were anxiously asking about Lisa's situation.
【The snow has stopped in Haicheng; did the boss win?】
【Is the Ghost King defeated?】
【Is Winter okay?】
Jisoo: 【Yes, we won, and Winter is fine.】
Irene smiled and sent a nodding bunny emoji to confirm Jisoo's response.
Cheers erupted in the chat, with happy emojis flashing across the screen.
The Ghost King then asked, "Are my ten generals and the hundred thousand ghost soldiers still alive?"
These soldiers had been sealed in the Ghost King's Seal at the start of the battle, a seal that now belonged to Lisa, or rather, it had become the Demon Seal.
After sensing for a moment, Lisa replied, "They're still alive."
"What do you intend to do with them?" the Ghost King asked.
Lisa gave him a cold glance.
The Ghost King smiled self-deprecatingly, knowing he no longer had the right to speak on such matters. Yet he still said, "I can command them to follow your orders."
This was a disguised plea, an exchange of their loyalty for their survival.
"I won't kill them," Lisa said. "In the recent transformation, they've become linked to the Demon Seal. They are now part of it."
The Ghost King was momentarily stunned but quickly understood. "They've become the Seal's spirit?"
Lisa nodded.
As time passed, the Ghost King's soul became even more transparent. After thinking for a moment, he asked Lisa, "Can you release the ten generals? I want to see them one last time."
Lisa didn't speak, but raised his right hand. The Demon Seal flashed out from his body, followed by a burst of red light, and ten armored figures appeared before everyone.
"General!" The ten generals knelt and cried out in sorrow as they saw the Ghost King on the verge of disappearing.
The Ghost King raised his hand to calm them. "I don't have much time left. I called you out to give you instructions."
"We await your orders, General," the ten generals responded.
"Now that you've become the spirits of the Demon Seal, protect it well in the future."
