Chapter 18

THE NEXT DAY - STUDIO

Jisoo was refilling water in the coffee machine when he saw his boss walking in through the entrance with a grave expression on his face.

"Send up a cup of coffee for me." Lisa instructed him.

"Okay." Jisoo said. He then quickly turned around and asked the young lady boss, "Lady boss, what's wrong with boss? Why does he feel weird today?"

"It's probably... because of me." Irene scratched her face and answered sheepishly.

"You?" He became more curious, "What did you do, lady boss?"

"I... just gave him a kiss." Fine, she did kiss Lisa on purpose yesterday. When witches blessed someone, there was actually no need to kiss the target at all. But after arriving in Hai City for such a long time, she wanted to develop their relationship further.

Even though her dearest husband did seem strange, after waking up in the morning, he didn't berate nor glare at her. This showed that he was not angry. He was probably just embarrassed instead.

Right, he must be feeling embarrassed.

"You kissed the boss!" Jisoo was shocked.

"Yep." She nodded her head in glee.

She seemed so proud of her action. Could it be that young ladies these days were all so passionate and willing to take the initiative in a relationship?

"Lady boss, I admire you." He sincerely gave her a big thumbs-up.

Irene let out a giggle. She waved at Jisoo before heading to the washroom. Similar to yesterday, she sent out the soul-possessed doll and ordered it to continue monitoring the vicinity of the famous online cake shop.

If the next target of the liver-digging devil was her, then he would definitely be near the vicinity of the cake shop. As long as she had enough patience, she believed that he would turn up again.

At the other side of the studio, Jisoo brought a cup of freshly-grinded coffee upstairs. He then noticed that his boss was wearing a pair of spectacles.

He wore his spectacles, could it be...

"Don't let anyone come up to disturb me today." Lisa pushed aside the documents on his table and reached out to adjust his monitor's position.

"Okay." Jisoo's eyes lit up and answered him immediately. He put down the cup of coffee and rushed downstairs in a hurry.

He started shouting out to the rest even before he reached the first floor. "Hey, hey-hey, guys, stop working."

"What happened?"

"When I went upstairs to bring a cup of coffee to boss, I saw that he put on his spectacles and adjusted the computer screen's position. He also instructed me to not let anyone disturb him." Jisoo replied.

The rest of them were startled for a moment before their expressions turned gleeful. They said collectively, "Boss is going to start a new novel?"

Even though their boss had heavy dark circles and reddish eyes, he was not short-sighted. His office only had a pair of blue light glasses, and would only be worn when he needed to stare at his computer screen for a prolonged period of time. Coupled with the fact that he was adjusting his monitor, the only explanation would be that he was going to start writing a new novel.

"I'm going to announce it in the readers' chat group so that everyone can be prepared to follow the updates." Seulgi immediately took out his phone and started typing furiously.

Why were the 4 of them so excited?

Because the 4 of them were diehard fans of Lisa's novels.

With Lisa's sharp tongue and horrible attitude, besides Jisoo who came here as a spy, the rest of them would not have been able to endure without rose-coloured lenses.
