On the third day since Winter started residing in the mansion, Irene received a message while she was in class. It was from Han Meng-her first client after she came to Hai City.
Han Meng: Witch, thank you very much. I've lived a very satisfying life during these past 3 months.
Irene was surprised by the message. Her gaze then landed upon the first chat message between Han Meng and her. The date indicated above the message was exactly 3 months ago.
3 months had come to an end.
Irene tapped open Han Meng's WeChat Moments and swiftly browsed through her posts for the past 3 months. Han Meng's WeChat Moments were lengthy. There were many photos showing Han Meng accompanying her parents to many places, eating an abundance of good food, witnessing countless beautiful sceneries and even participating in various exhilarating acts.
She had tried bungee-jumping from the highest mountain peaks, skydiving through the most breathtaking blue skies and diving in the cleanest seas. She had traveled to Africa to visit the native wildlife and even journeyed to the South Pole to see the starry skies.
Irene stared at Han Meng's brilliant expressions filled with smiles and understood that Han Meng must have resolved all her regrets for these past 3 months. With a faint smile, Irene deleted Han Meng's WeChat contact.
Contract fulfilled.
Simultaneously at the same instant, Ningning, who was residing in the villa, felt something returning to his body.
"Meow?" The black cat, who was by his side, was alarmed and puzzledly looked towards him.
"Time's up." Ningning understood what happened after some time. The 'something' that had returned back to his body was his soul powers-the same soul powers that were transferred over along with his malice at that time. However, as he no longer was a malicious ghost, the malice from then did not return. Only that originally small amount of soul powers were recovered.
However, if the malice did not return to his body, where did those energies go?
While Ningning was still pondering upon this question, Winter's candid laughter could be heard from the room next door. It ran over to Ningning with swift steps, clutching a cloud of black mist in its hands. As the black mist drew near, he felt some sense of familiarity with it.
"Winter, does that malice belong to me?" Ningning asked.
"GO DIE, GO DIEEEE!" Winter screamed death threats as it threw the malice on its hands into its mouth and started gobbling it up.
Previously, Irene forcibly exchanged Ningning's malicious ghost nature with Headmaster Hong's. Therefore, when the 3 month's time was up and his malice returned, it should have returned to Headmaster Hong's body. However, since Headmaster Hong was devoured by Winter, this returning malice ended up in Winter's hands.
Winter seemed to have seen some images after swallowing the malice cloud. It became silent for a moment before suddenly raising its hand and patting Ningning's head, seemingly comforting him.
Ningning was in a Sweet-dreams Doll currently and was only as big as a human's palm. Winter was 10 times bigger than him. So even though Winter meant for its pats to be of a comforting nature, it was an unbearable mass to Ningning and he was slapped flat to the ground with a single pat.
Ningning was befuddled after being pressed down to the ground by Winter's huge palm. He then asked after a long lapse, "Winter, what are you doing?"
Winter opened its mouth wanting to say something, but no sounds were released. It retracted the hand that was pressing on Ningning and hugged its own head in bewilderment. It then started to run about in circles anxiously.
