Chapter 65: Lies of Love

3rd Person POV

Late at night, 9:00 p.m. to be precise, the girls of Class 1-A sat together in the common room, wearing home clothes. Mina, Vanessa, and Miku sat beside each other on one couch, while Ochaco, Tsuyu, and Toru sat on the other couch. Yao-Momo and Kyoka each sat on their own separate sofa blocks.

Mina groaned while leaning her head backwards on the couch, "Does it have to be this haaaard?" "Well, it's not called intensive training for nothing...!" Toru joked in a normal tone; if you didn't know Toru, you would have thought she was serious and not joking with that tone.

"That's true." Yao-Momo spoke up, "But it's strange to think there's only a week left before the exam." "I know. I think I'm gonna burst with stress." Vanessa sighed in defeat, shoving her face into her open palms.

Toru turned to the vice class president, "Yao-Momo, how's your Ultimate Move coming?" "There's something I really want to do, but my body just isn't ready yet." The blackette replied with a disappointed expression on her face... disappointed in herself. "I need time to develop my Quirk and improve my general endurance."

"How 'bout you, Tsu?" Toru turned to the greenette, who smiled, "I've perfected a move that makes me even more frog-like than before. I'm sure even you'd look surprised, Toru."

The invisible girl chuckled, "What's your story, Ochaco?" However, the brunette was lost in space. "Hey, Ochaco?" Tsu tapped her best friend's shoulder, causing her to snap out of her trance with a loud yelp. She turned to her closest friend in fear. "You seem a little tense." Tsu stated, although Ochaco was quick to make a determined face. "No, it's nothing. Everything's going awesome. I'm just getting started!"

The girls stared back at her in confusion, however Vanessa could tell something was up. Vanessa's head slightly tilted to the side, and Ochaco's heart skipped a beat when in her peripherals saw the girl's emerald eyes staring into her soul, as if they were trying to capture her in a trance. She began to sweat nervously—

"Ochaco, is something wrong?" Vanessa's sweet tone filled the room, opposite to the prey-capturing aura her eyes gave off. Ochaco nervously stuttered in response, "Y-Yeah, well... At least that's how I'd usually be. The thing is, recently my heart's been all stirred up about something..."

"It's love!" Mina burst with a massive grin.

... Ochaco began to sweat immensely and a mad blush filled her face as she freaked at this, waving her hands all around the place, "What did you say?! Glove? Shove? Dove? Never seen one— What's that?!" "So, who is it—?! Midoriya?! Iida?!" Mina eagerly continued, before Miku bursted into the conversation, "Yeah! You're always hanging around them, even when Tsu isn't there!"

"You've got it all wrong!" She shoved her hands to her face, activating her Quirk and floating around, "That's not it, I swear!" "She's floating~!" Mina teased.

"Which one? Or someone else? Come on, spill!" Toru jumped around in her seat excitedly, Kyoka then looking up with a wicked smirk. "Yeah, out with it. You know we're not gonna give up until we know." "I swear, it's no one!" Ochaco whined, before an embarrassed smile filled her face, "Besides, it's not like I even know anything about dating..."

Vanessa's eyes widened for a split second before she giggled cutely, elbowing Miku's arm. "Don't worry, we can teach ya!" She joked around, trying to find an excuse for her to spill.

However, Tsu was fast to lean forward and face Yao-Momo who stood up after, "It's not good to force an investigation." "She's right. More importantly, it's late. We should call it a night." the vice president agreed.

"Ugh! No! I wanna hear everything! You can't just spring a hint of romance on us and expect me to go to sleep!" Mina leaned forward and pouted like a little baby. Regardless, Vanessa was quick to grab her by the wrist and tug her upwards, "C'mon, Mother Mina. Let's get you to bed."
