Shoto Todoroki's POV

As we walked through the forest and I carried the unconscious boy Bakugo and I found earlier on my back, we suddenly heard a familiar voice yell...

"Ochaco!"

"That was Asui!" Midoriya stated, and so we quickly ran over to where the voice originated. Once there, we found a blonde female villain that had stuck a large syringe into Uraraka's thigh, sucking out her blood.

"Uraraka!" exclaimed Shoji in worry. Asui, who was pinned to a tree by a knife thrusted into her ponytail above her head, quickly turned to us, "Quickly, guys! Help her!" Uraraka noticed us and the villain quickly ran. "Stop!" Uraraka desperately yelled, before Asui and our group rushed to her side.

Uraraka burst up when the villain was about to get away, "Get her!" "It's too dangerous!" Asui sternly stopped her with her words, "We have no idea what kind of Quirk she has!"

"Who was that girl just now?" I asked, running up the girls with my team, the student from Class 1-B still on my back. "One of the villains. She was crazy!" Asui informed us.

"Uraraka, you're hurt!" Midoriya freaked in a panic, looking at the cut on Uraraka's arm. "It's not bad," she calmly replied, looking down at her injury, "I can still walk okay. You're the one who looks terrible!" Shoji grunted, "We can't stand here and talk. Let's move."

"I'm just glad you didn't get injured too bad..." Midoriya said, full of relief, "Now, come on. Join our group...! We're protecting Kacchan and Freitas and making our way back to camp. We could use your help!"

Asui placed a finger to her chin, her face showing confusion along with Uraraka's, "If you're protecting Vanessa and Bakugo, then... shouldn't they be standing here with you guys...?"

"Huh?" Midoriya, Yui, and I gasped lightly, confused as well. "What are you talking about?" Midoriya asked. "They're right over here behind us—" Yui started, but we were all cut off when we looked behind us—

... I physically felt all the air in my lungs freeze cold.

I couldn't breathe.

Bakugo... and Vanessa... were gone.

Vanessa's... gone?! Shit—! How could I let this happen—?!?!

"Nice trick, eh?"

A voice rang from the tree-tops. A villain dressed with a long yellow coat, a top hat, and a mask who looked like a magician stood there. That bastard!!!

"I took the lads you're talking about with my magic." He tossed two light blue orbs up and down on the palm of his glove, "Talents like theirs' would be squandered where they cast as a hero. We'll provide them with a grander stage where they can truly shine."

A beastly growl escaped my lips, I already had lost Mom to my villainous father. There is no way I'm losing Vanessa to another villain!

"Give Vanessa back!" I desperately screamed, pure anger spitting from my voice. "Give them back!" Yui also screamed at the same time as me, and I could see the tears threatening to fall from her amethyst eyes.

"'Give them back'?" the villain taunted, "What an odd thing to say. Freitas and Bakugo don't belong to anyone. They are their own people. Don't be so arrogant. And besides, if you just called her 'Vanessa', Todoroki, then you two must be close. What a shame." I grunted, my mind clouded with fury, Damn it--! He knows who I am!

"We'll stop you!" yelled Midoriya, and I stepped forward, using my right foot to create an ice wall, "Right now!" However, the villain managed to jump over my ice, "Why the aggression? We merely wish to show them that there are other options besides the fanatical world of heroism they're drowning in. It's important to choose a path that aligns with your core values, after all."
