Chapter 99: The Boyfriend Swap Challenge

3rd Person POV

It was the night of the U.A. Cultural Festival, and the entire school event was an absolute blast. Because it was Friday, all the hard-working students of U.A. had the weekend off to relax.

Miku and Vanessa sat on the long couch in the common room playing Magia Record on their own devices together. Miku was still raging on and on about how damn hard she worked to try and get Swimsuit Homura and the game didn't let her while Vanessa tried her best to calm her down. Surprisingly, there was no one else besides the two in the common room. It was a very long and exhausting day, so the girls thought that was probably the reason it was empty in the main hang-out area.

Vanessa was upgrading Sayaka, who she had just gotten a few days ago, to make her stronger...

And that was the exact moment it had hit her.

She gasped and immediately dropped her phone, "Oh my God, pause the damn game, Miku." She quickly snatched Miku's phone and shut it off, even though she was in the middle of a battle. Miku stared at her with a really confused expression, her eyebrow raised, "... Huh?"

The brunette swiftly grabbed the grey-purple haired girl's shoulders, "Since we got nothing at ALL to do tomorrow, we should do the boyfriend swap challenge for the day!" Miku's eyes widened before she became very excited, "Wow, that's an amazing idea! But..." she then paused in confusion, "... where'd you suddenly get it from?"

Vanessa blinked her emerald eyes a few times, trying to understand herself, "I dunno. Thinking about Sayaka, Kyosuke, and stupid Hitomi while upgrading Sayaka gave me that idea." Miku snickered out a giggle at 'stupid Hitomi' but also nodded.

"Anyways, we should text them to see if they'd like to." Vanessa told her bestie, making Miku giggle cutely, "Yeah, but Todoroki will agree with anything you ask of him and I'll just have to force Katsuki to come anyway." Vanessa chuckled nervously with a light blush on her cheeks before they both got back onto their phones. And after a few minutes of waiting in anticipation, Miku and Vanessa both logged out of their boyfriends iMessage chats.

"Bakugo okay with it?" "I had to force him, but he's in." Miku huffed a sigh, "How about Todoroki?" "He thinks it's a great idea...!" Vanessa grinned with her eyes shut, and Miku only snickered in response. "Anything that comes out of your mouth he'll think is a great idea." The brunette blushed even redder than earlier at Miku's words, making the taller girl smirk.

"Damn, tomorrow's gonna be fun." Miku smiled as she leaned further into the sofa, glancing over at her best friend, "Although Katsuki might try to kill you..." Vanessa groaned a sigh as pouted with crossed arms, "Ugh, don't remind me. And change that 'might' to a 'certainly' when you're at it." Miku laughed softly in response, "Yeah..." It was true, and they both knew it all-too well.

"Oh!" Vanessa suddenly jumped in her seat and her eyes lit up, "If you can't read Shoto's stoic expression, it's totally normal. I used to not be able to, as well." "Used??" Miku freaked out, since she was worried about not knowing what Todoroki is actually feeling, which is reasonable. Only Fuyumi, Natsuo, Rei, and Vanessa can ever tell what is going on in his mind.

The brunette shrugged, "Eh, what can I say?" She then grabbed her phone and unlocked it with face recognition, "Now..." she turned to Miku with a cute grin, "... how 'bout we play some more Magia Record before bed?" "Oh, definitely." Miku replied as she immediately grabbed her phone and unlocked it as Vanessa laughed.

It was now the next day at 2:00 p.m.... and the start of the challenge.

After the two girls ate breakfast together, they went back up to their dorms to get dressed... and they had ultimately decided to dress up in one of their matching outfits.
