Chapter 84: Trouble in Paradise

3rd Person POV

The next day after the five's first day on the job at their work studies...

Their classmates were already freaking out about them.

Standing up from her desk, Vanessa walked up to the desk to her left where Kirishima sat. Waving 'hi' to him, she took her stand next to him, wanting to talk to the redhead. As Kirishima waved back to her, she scratched the itch on her neck beneath her bandages. She was still patched up from yesterday: her neck was still wrapped in bandages, and the skin underneath her left eye had a large bandage.

"Holy shit, Vanessa and Kirishima! Take a look at this!" Kaminari suddenly burst towards the two, holding his phone up to the pair with an ecstatic grin, "Your hero names are all over the news sites today, it's freakin' crazy!" The pair now looked at the article open on his phone and skimmed the words written, "Newcomer sidekicks, Red Riot and Aryoi burst onto the scene! Aryoi rescued innocent civilians and Red Riot fought a villain all on their very first patrol!"

Vanessa giggled nervously, her cheeks tinting pink; She was getting shy and embarrassed from all the attention she was getting, since she thought she didn't deserve it... Additionally also because Bakugo was growling like an angrily pissed-off hedgehog from behind, since they were getting ahead of him.

"And he's not the only one! Look, check out Miku, Tsu, and Ochaco!" Mina pointed out in shock, holding up her own phone with another article to the three girls who were gathered around Tsuyu's desk, which was in front of Mina's. "New sidekicks at Ryukyu agency! Three there for a work study! That's so cool!"

"Wow! I can't believe this is real!" Ochaco exclaimed as she took hold of Mina's phone in excitement. "I know, this is awesome!" Miku happily gasped beside her, looking over the brunette's shoulder to read the phone.

"When did they even snap that picture?" Tsu pointed out, but Mina only spoke over her. "Hey, you know what?! You might already have your own fanclub, like AAAHHHH!" "Mina, girl, chill!" Miku playfully slapped the pink-girl's arm with a smirk. "Ahhh, I'm so jealous!" Toru fangirled from behind.

"And check this." Kyoka spoke up as she held up her own phone, Yao-Momo next to her. "Heroes in training. They're cute, they're efficient, but even more importantly they managed to get the job done."

After continuing to hear all this talk about work studies, Bakugo was starting to get even more pissed.

"You have provisional licenses now and you're seen as Heroes. I must thank you for your service." Iida spoke up, his tone stern and his arms crossed, "But. A student's top priority is academics! Hit those books!" Iida pointed his straight hand out to Kirishima and Vanessa, who burst with pumped fists, "Yeah!"

"Wait, didn't you tell us you've been having trouble with your assignments lately?" Kaminari asked Kirishima with his hands placed on the back of his neck. "The teachers said they'd set up some extra lessons for me." Eijiro replied nonchalantly...

... which ended up causing a hell-storm.

"What?! Seriously, Eijiro!" Vanessa whined as she slapped Kirishima's upper arm, "I told you already that I could help you with your assignments! Why didn't you tell me you were struggling?!" The redhead sighed before placing his hand on the top of Vanessa's head, "You've already been really busy with Yui and catching up on school work that we missed already. So, I don't wanna up your stress!" "Hmph." Vanessa pouted with crossed arms, turning away from him.

"Maybe I should have checked into those extra lessons, too." Sero placed his hand on the back of his head with an awkward grin, "I am totally slipping." "Hanta!" Vanessa whined again, clearly showing the tape boy that he should've asked her for help. She gestured back and forth between herself and Sero with her hand, "Come. ON!"
