Chapter 88: A Very Bittersweet Conclusion

Miku Yui's POV

"Suspect restrained!" The police began to tie up the obesely large villain who we had just taken down, named Katsukame. As they did this, I stood over to the side with Ryukyu, Ochaco, and Tsu.

"He went down pretty fast for such a big guy." Tsu stated in awe, her index finger to her chin. "Good thing." Ochaco added. "Yeah, it's good that we beated him now." I smirked as I attached my Time Shield to the back of my skirt.

"Rikiya Katsukame, enhances his size by breathing in the life force of the person he's touching." Ryukyu stated, before she looked down at me, "You are right, Homura. It's a good thing we took him down now."

Our boss then turned to the police, "Isolate him now, before he regains consciousness." "Yes, ma'am!" They responded to her order and immediately got to work.

Hado pointed back at the Hassaikai Headquarters from afar, "Things are sounding pretty lively in there. We'd better get moving." "We're heading in later than I'd hoped..." Ryukyu stated in an uneasy tone, "... but let's catch up to Nighteye." "Right!" the three of us determinedly responded. However, as soon as we started running, we began to slow down due to a draining feeling.

"Oh, man..." Ochaco sulked, struggling to walk just like Tsu and I. "I feel—" Tsu groaned and fell to the ground. "What is—?" I cut myself off to hold my stomach and also fall to the ground at the same time as Ochaco.

What... is this feeling...? I feel... so tired... no point.. to keep... going on...?

I slowly looked around to find that Katsukame was also stealing some of the police officers' vitality as well. "The Quirk booster Irinaka gave me is finally kicking in..." the villain stated, taking a large step onto the ground. "About damn time...!" He then looked up to the sky and broke apart his restraints, "That's more like it!"

Katsukame quickly hauled a punch at Ryukyu, who fastly changed into her dragon form and blocked the attack. He sent another punch that she dodged, then calling out to Hado. "Yep, I'm going to a full charge...!" The air-head sent her surge wave, but it didn't seem to greatly affect the enemy.

Katsukame scoffed with a laugh as he glared up at Hado flying in the air, "Looks like the drug wore off, so I'll need to get a little handsy with you!" Hado's face angered in both fury and disgust at his playful hand gestures, and she quickly shot back a few more surges, "Back off! You creep!"

Suddenly, while Ochaco, Tsu, and I were all huddled together on the floor, someone called for Ochaco. We all turned our eyes slowly to find... Midoriya?! But, isn't he with Nighteye and Togata?!

My green haired classmate pointed back to the Hassaikai base with a determined yet desperate expression, "We need some backup, quick! Underground right below the intersection, over there! The others are pinned down. We have to help them!"

"Let's go!" Ryukyu immediately responded to Midoriya and flapped her giant wings, taking to the skies. Even though it was a massive struggle with all my energy drained, I slowly got up and ran to Katsukame.

Because I'm all drained, I can't use my Quirk to its limits right now. Therefore, I made sure to touch Katsukame to freeze him in time like I used to do before I improved my Quirk. After I used my Quirk, Ochaco used her own to make him float. Ryukyu made sure to restrain him with her body and claws so if my Quirk weared off, he wouldn't still be able to escape. Tsu wrapped her tongue around Katsukame and ran down the street to Hado.

"Now, Nejire!" Ryukyu called Hado in a rush, "Hit us with everything you've got!" Hado nodded sternly, blasting the villain with everything she had. "Okay, Homura, release it!" I hastily made sure to unfreeze my Quirk with my mind, making Katsukame freeze out of time and scream in pain, causing him to go unconscious.
