CHARLOTTE'S POV

The day started early and after the last rounds and last details, I gave the last indications to the people on the welcoming team and we timed our moves so I could give the tour to every single group, along Jace and Clary. I was too busy being attentive to everything that I just left those thoughts about a parabatai behind, mainly because I knew that a parabatai would not be that easy to find. The first group came and I was just really excited to meet new people. I was good with people, I was a social butterfly, like Jace liked to call me. Russian Institute arrived and I asked them to use their translation rune, so they could understand me and everyone in the institute. The tour was good and I left them in their rooms before returning to the entrance. By midday, the London's Institute arrived and as I acted normal, there was something about this one particular girl. She looked scared and she was visibly surprised for our institute, like she had not seen anything like it.

I high-five all of them and when I touched her, I felt this electrical connection and a split second of an image came to my mind, but it was quickly erased by my own mind. It was like mundanes liked to say, a déjàvu. I tried to act normal, mainly because she did not react, but Jace noticed. He just stared at me, asking with his eyes if I was okay and I just nodded as I kept babbling about Tony and Bruce and their alter egos. To my non surprise, none of them knew about our heroes as they were not allowed to coexist with mundanes, which was a shame. As I kept explaining and showing them around, I felt this weird feeling whenever I was closer to this girl, so when I did not feel her around, I looked back and noticed she had stayed behind looking at our library. Jace followed my glance and before I could excuse myself, he took over. "New York's Institute is one of the first institutes in the United States."

Jace explained the architecture of the institute as I walked to the girl who stayed behind. As I got next to her, she was completely lost in the library. The library in the Institute was filled with hundreds of thousands of books. There was a desk in the center which Hodge often sat in when he lived there and none of us had the heart to take it out of there. There were multiple chairs throughout the room to sit and read in and lately, we had brought pillows to sit on the floor or maybe that was just me. I had spent most of my years reading those books, just because my parents asked me to, so by my fifteenth birthday, I had ended all of them and I took a small interest on the mundane literature. Sometimes, mundanes were dramatic but there were other times where they were good. The girl was too lost on the books and I just took in the whole library. It was circular because it is built into a tower and that gave it another touch.

I have always been attracted to castles and royalty, so living in one, was pretty awesome. Something told me to take her to the Greenhouse, she was even more struck by the sight and then, she started talking nonstop and I just let her talk. Her voice was soothing. After a while, we returned to the tour as Jace walked away as he had to entertain the other group that had arrived. I started explaining about their rooms and roommates, it was then, when I caught Catherine having a panic attack and it only took a second for me to tell my second in command of the welcoming team to take over as I went to Jace's office demanding to share my room with Catherine and Izzy. Jace, for once, did not fight me and agreed. Then, I stopped and changed the way I asked the room change. "It's okay. I get that she's scared and we are welcoming with whomever might need it, so, it's fine by me." His words came to me like honey and I just hugged him.

"What about the table?" I asked once again, still in his arms. "She's in your room, meaning she's on our table." I giggled and walked away from him as he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back to him. "Stop flirting with me, Jace." I joked and he let his head fall back. "By the Angel. I can't." He replied with a knowing smile. I chuckled and left his office.
