CHARLOTTE’S POV

When I finally gathered the energy to open my eyes, I was in Cath’s room. She was pacing as Vallery was on the chair next to me. “So, I think you can’t have my closet after all.” Cath stopped on her tracks as Vallery woke up and both threw themselves at me. I groaned lightly as they pressed my wound and after saying sorry, they got up. I took my phone and it was Friday already. “What the hell happened?” I said and Cath jumped off the bed again. “You scared the hell out of me, don’t you ever do that!” She complained and I was lost. I did not know what was she talking about. “By your face, I can see you don’t remember a thing.” Vallery started and I looked at her like she was crazy. “Last thing I remember, we were having breakfast, then I woke up here.” Cath stood up and took her stele. She drew a rune on her hand and then she held my hand. She shared her memories with me and I could not believe what they had done to me.
“Magnus was here and Kurt and Leon are going to New York and Alicante?” I knew that would only be trouble. “Relax, they are going to spend just a week over the institutes, then they are going to the Clave’s custodial and wait for their grounding.” I was perplexed and my mind started wandering on the consequences all this would have. The residents of the institute already hated me; they did not need another reason. It had not been my fault and yet, they had another reason to dislike me. “I’m going to the shower now.” I spoke and walked to the bathroom. I let the drops run over my body and after forever, I went back to the room and Cath and Vallery were gone. I got dressed and walked to the cafeteria, I was not in the mood to be bullied this soon, so I would have breakfast on my own. It was a surprise to see a few other people already there and among them was Catherine.
I was confused on why Catherine was taking a tray with her, we were supposed to eat in the dining room, not anywhere else. She walked towards me. “Turn around and just keep walking.” She spoke directly to my mind and I did not know we could eat anywhere else, but I did what she asked me. Once we were outside, she nodded toward the Greenhouse and I just followed her. I felt dizzy, my strength was leaving me and I was just so confused, but I just kept walking as fast as I could to avoid looking at the rest of the residents of the institute. “I knew you would not want to be there, even if you were on your own. You’re not supposed to be up either way, so I brought breakfast to you.” Cath explained as she showed me the tray. “But seriously, you need to take it easy for the next few days. You were lucky enough to survive the cataplasm, but we don’t know what that means.” I just looked down, because I knew that.
“You looked relieved when Evelyn told you it was cataplasm.” I nodded as I smiled a little bit. “When Clary was deruned, she felt something alike and I was just worried that the Angels were punishing me, so knowing that I was not, was a huge load off myself.” Catherine smiled and I felt normal for once. “What did Magnus say?” I asked, still confused on all the things that had happened these last two days. “He was extremely mad, but he was madder at the fact that he was hiding the whole thing from Alec.” I frowned and Cath mimicked my reaction. “He knew that if Alec knew what had happened, he would tell Jace and then, hell would have exploded and that somehow would bring more trouble for you, so he decided to leave them out of it, at least until you decided to tell them.” I nodded at her explanation and just sighed and started eating. After a while, we finished our breakfast and walked back to our room.
“What am I supposed to do if I’m not allowed to train?” I asked and Cath pointed at my books and music. “Although, we can always sneak out of the premises.” That sounded a lot more interesting, so we did. It was getting darker in London and unsurprisingly, a storm was coming up. I decided to stay in. Catherine decided to get out and wander around just so people saw her.
