CATHERINE'S POV

I really did not know what has gotten over me all of a sudden, all I knew was that I wanted Pierce dead, but not only dead I wanted him to feel pain, I did not want him to have a swift death, I wanted him to suffer, to feel the pain he had made Bucky endure all these years. I don't know where all this was coming from, but I felt pure hate towards him and the only time I felt that helpless was when that stupid dude stabbed Charlie a couple of years ago. I mean, I did not even know him. All I knew was that he was a friend of Steve and his name, but I felt like I knew him. I got all emotional and I know I have always hated these kinds of things, but these people were taking it to a whole new level, they had been doing this to him for the last decades. He was their best weapon as they described him, and yet they were treating him so badly and torturing him. He looked starved and with so much pain it hurt to see him like that.

Then, Charlie made a stupid assumption and I did not know why Charlie thought I was talking about killing Bucky, but as soon as she got my hatred towards Pierce, we went looking for him. We caught Pierce welcoming the counselors and after a while, Steve got to the building and gave a speech. We went up and found Sam. "What's going on?" We asked as Sam made a full summary of the situation. Sam and Steve went away to change the chips of the Insight carriers as Charlie and I took the agents out in the lower floor. Just then Bucky arrived once again. We hacked on their communication system and listened to whatever they were saying. As Sam was going to one helicarrier, Steve went to the other and then, there was one left. Steve hastily got there as the Winter Soldier attacked him. I somehow managed to get to the top floor where Pierce was unfortunately already dead and Nick and Nat were leaving the building because it was going down.

I went to his corpse, opened a portal to Charlie's apartment and then got back to see the helicarrier where Charlie was falling down and there were no signs of her or Steve. "By the Angel. Not again." I whispered to myself and I jumped to the river. I had to save my parabatai. After skimming the river and not finding anything, I swam to the shore, there I saw Bucky leaving Steve and next to him was Charlie. "We need to take him to the hospital. The Winter Soldier shot him." Charlie was so scared that her powers were not working properly, so I opened a portal to the hospital and Charlie started pacing as Steve got into surgery. He had lost a lot of blood and he had multiple gunshots. After a while, Sam got there, apologizing that he had been checked too, but he was alright. After that, I started panicking about someone finding Pierce corpse in Charlie's apartment so I had to drag her to an empty room.

"Dude, don't freak out but I took Pierce's body to your apartment, don't ask me why I don't even know why, I wanted to kill him myself and I feel so much hatred towards him to the point I want to bring him back to life and I need to know that you're with me cause I'm going insane." She looked at me with shock in her eyes but tried to calm down. "Dude, we're parabatai, meaning whatever you do, I'm doing it too. Let's go." As Steve was still in surgery, Charlie needed something to focus on and Pierce gave her just that. "Sam, we'll go and do some paperwork and we'll be back. If anything happens, call me." He nodded and we portaled to her apartment. There he was and I second-guessed whatever I was about to do, but then the memory of him hitting Bucky came and I brought him back to life. "Did it work?" I questioned Charlie as Pierce did not move. "I don't know." We walked closer and he started breathing and as he showed that smug grin of his.

I started torturing him. Slowly, painfully and I enjoyed every little thing I did to him. Charlie was just giving me the moral support, but I was doing everything. Deep down I knew this was wrong and I did not want her to be involved in my grounding. As I burned him alive, there was this feeling that was making me feel better, but at the same time, I felt guilty for doing it so.
