CATHERINE'S POV

On March first, we had our conjoined birthday party in DC, as we had told Steve we lived near. And although we had planned this hoping for him to come, it was a big surprise to actually see Steve among the guests. Unlike last year, we did a tiny reunion with some friends. Justin included. Jace was almost all night beside Charlie, so when she disappeared, he lost it. When I realized that Steve was gone too, I knew that she was safe. So, I told Jace that Charlie was a bit overwhelmed and that Justin had gone home alone. Jace sighed and got back to the institute, we had the next version of the Combat Fest and he was taking extra time to train. When all the guests left, I found myself alone with Matt. "I brought you something." He whispered and I smiled at him. "You really didn't have to." His smile brought another on my face. We stared for a second, before he got closer and he kissed me. Matt was gentle, but aggressive and I was left wanting more from him.

When he stopped kissing me, he looked into my eyes, almost asking if that had been alright. When I kissed him again, he smiled into the kiss and kept on caressing my face. I was in cloud nine, when an annoying cough brought me back. "It seems to me like my invitation got lost in the mail." Tony said and my mind was still a bit clouded, but I could swear that we had invited him. "We sent your invitation and in fact, you replied us no." Tony looked at me like I was crazy and maybe I looked like one as Matt started fixing my hair. I fished for my Stark's cellphone and showed him the texts. "That wasn't me." We both stared at each other and I texted Charlie immediately. "I'm on my way, I took Steve home." She texted me back. A few minutes later, she was there and it was super awkward to be there. "Wait, so who did this?" Charlie questioned still not convinced of all this. "I thought you had skipped me for your boyfriend." Tony blurted out and Charlie turned to him.

"I thought we had left that in the past. And just for your information, he's getting married and the fiancé is really nice." This was going nowhere. "Who has access to your phone and things?" I asked before Troy burned. "Beside JARVIS, of course." Tony was taken aback by my suggestion and then he looked almost hurt. "So, you're saying JARVIS did this?" I rolled my eyes. "No. I'm saying that you have a security breach and you should fix that instead of fighting us." As he was going to reply, JARVIS scanned all their systems and found an error. So, I looked at him challenging to say another word. But instead of talking to me, he commanded JARVIS to put up the security plan. "I don't know exactly what's going on, but I'm sorry. I should have corroborated my sources first." Charlie and I nodded and we hugged it out. "I brought you this, by the way." He handed us some boxes and we hugged him again before he left.

"Are you going home?" Charlie asked me and I looked at Matt, who had waited patiently, so I shook my head. "Then, I guess I'm staying out too." As she smiled, she walked away and I looked at Matt. We spent hours just making out on the sofa and that was exactly what I loved about our relationship. Matt was okay with us just being friends, he was okay with us just holding hands and he was okay with us just kissing. I never felt pressured to go the extra mile for him and that made me realize that I wanted more from him. I took him to the room and let myself go with the flow. I wanted him and deep down, I needed him. We kissed, slowly at first and hard a little later. He took me and all the nervousness left my body when I felt him closer. It was greater that I expected. When it was over, Izzy's words related to faeries and sex came to my mind and I agreed with them. I really did not have anyone to compare it to, but I felt complete and safe and I wanted to do it again.

Matt just smiled and did exactly what I wanted and it felt good. I felt desired and needed and I felt extremely good to have him on me. It had been my first and I could not have asked for a better man to do it, although in my mind it was not Matt who was in bed with me, it was Loki and deep down, I did not even feel guilty for it.
